Summary

  • Inverts the FF_AUTO_PROVISION_INSTALL feature flag from opt-in (=== '1') to kill-switch (!== '0'), making the auto-provision flow the default for vercel integration add and vercel install
  • To rollback, change !== '0' back to === '1' in the 4 files: add.ts, integration/index.ts, integration/install.ts, format-dynamic-examples.ts
  • To rollback without a code deploy, set FF_AUTO_PROVISION_INSTALL=0 in the environment
  • Updates all 5 check sites (add.ts, integration/index.ts, install/index.ts, format-dynamic-examples.ts) and corresponding tests

Test plan

  • All 97 auto-provision tests pass
  • format-dynamic-examples tests pass
  • Manual: vercel integration add <slug> uses auto-provision flow by default
  • Manual: FF_AUTO_PROVISION_INSTALL=0 vercel integration add <slug> falls back to legacy flow
  • Manual: vercel install <slug> uses auto-provision flow by default

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Note

Low Risk Change

Feature flag inversion changes default behavior from opt-in to opt-out for auto-provision flow, but this is a controlled rollout with kill-switch capability and does not affect security/auth logic.

  • Inverts FF_AUTO_PROVISION_INSTALL from opt-in (=== '1') to kill-switch (!== '0') in 4 files
  • Updates test fixtures to explicitly set flag for legacy vs auto-provision test isolation
  • Adds --format option filtering when FF is disabled in install command

Risk assessment for commit dded4dd.

Invert FF_AUTO_PROVISION_INSTALL flag from opt-in (`=== '1'`) to
kill-switch (`!== '0'`). The auto-provision flow is now the default
for `vercel integration add` and `vercel install`. Setting
FF_AUTO_PROVISION_INSTALL=0 reverts to the legacy flow without
requiring a code deploy.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Explicitly set FF_AUTO_PROVISION_INSTALL='1' in test setup so tests
pass regardless of whether the source code checks === '1' or !== '0'.
Reverting the launch now only requires changing 4 source files with
zero test changes.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Align install/index.ts with integration/index.ts by also filtering
the format option from help text when FF_AUTO_PROVISION_INSTALL=0.
The --format flag is only supported on the auto-provision path.

LGTM - clean flag inversion, consistent across all check sites.

🤖 Written by Claude Code on behalf of @tonypan2

The install/index.test.ts and integration/add.test.ts files test the
legacy (non-auto-provision) flow. With auto-provision now on by
default, these tests hit the wrong code path and fail because the
auto-provision API mocks aren't set up. Pin them to the legacy flow
with FF=0 — the auto-provision path has its own comprehensive suite
(104 tests in add-auto-provision.test.ts).

# Releases
## @vercel/routing-utils@6.0.0

### Major Changes

- Allow `routes` to coexist with `rewrites`, `headers`, `redirects`,
`cleanUrls`, and `trailingSlash`.
([#15020](#15020))

This is part of our efforts to undeprecate `routes`, which had
previously been deprecated for a few years and replaced by the
properties above. Now that we are undeprecating `routes` in favor of a
more focused deprecation of properties within it, it is now allowed to
coexist with the new properties.

When used together, `routes` are inserted after `cleanUrls` and
`trailingSlash` but before `redirects`, `headers`, and `rewrites` in the
routing order.

- Deprecate `handle`, `important`, and `override` properties in `routes`
schema ([#15015](#15015))
