Ancient Streets

I walk these ancient streets and revel in the amazing art of the street-performers, marvel at the ridiculous determination of shoppers and enjoy the peculiar charm of the ignorant. They have no idea what’s to come.

Melancholy Mood

Bright sunshine, a clear blue sky and fresh snow on the ground transform a gloomy world into sparkling cheerfulness. In the afternoons though, the sparkle gives way to blue melancholy.

Never Give Up

A frog, two birds, and a cat were hanging out on a clothesline. The frog was croaking, the birds were chirping, and the cat was meowing. They were all having a great time.

NaNoWriMo And My Mojo

I wanted to write about this year’s NaNo and what it did for me for a while now, but I needed a break and some distance. I’ve participated several times before, in the write-athon in November and in the ‘do what you need’ Camp Nano in April. While they always were fun, especially with writer friends being part of the ‘Buddy’ group, the result always was awful. This time it may be different. Perhaps.

In-between

His days are filled with danger and running for his life. Before him stretches the ribbon of death that cuts his world into tiny pieces. He’s too tired to cross it. Exhausted he lies down.

Bridges

The journey was hard. The fierce winds, the darkness under the storm clouds, and waves like mountains on the night-black ocean almost made me turn back.

On NaNo and Writing and Stuff

So far, NaNoWriMo goes surprisingly well. I’m slowly able to beat my ideas about this story into a shape. Needless to say that I immediately see the flaws as soon as an hour or so has passed after I finished a chapter. But I won’t give in to the temptation. I’m plantsing this time, no chapter-to-chapter plan, just a very rough outline and I go with the flow and where the writing and the obstinate, far too chatty characters take me.

Changed my mind

You must think I’ve lost my marbles from the drama posting of the last few days. I still hate what WordPress does with the editor/customaization but I’ll stay around for now. The GDPR is serious stuff and can get expensive and, as often, German courts and aministration take stuff extra seriously, but in this case I’ll just risk it. This WordPress hosted site isn’t really mine, is it? It belongs to WordPress, I just use the service as I would other social network services.

If I asked a Canadian friend to host the site for me and then I post as guest, it would be quite similar, I suppose, just once removed.

But, if I suddenly go private again, you know why.

Edit: I had to delete the last post because it didn’t want to stop being pinned to the top. Never mind the rant…
