The Friends of the Library of Flagler County support the library by enhancing resources and innovations for the public through educational programs and entertainment.
Friends of the Library is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that accepts book endowments and bequests.
Monetary Donations
Monetary donations are accepted for the Flagler County Public Library general operations budget or designated for a particular area of interest. Donated funds can be used to support:
- Technology Development
- Children and Teen Services
- Furnishings
- Books and other materials for the library’s collection
Book Donations
Donations of books from local authors are welcome but are subject to consideration using the Collection Development Policy.
Most new books are welcomed as gifts, but there are some items the library cannot accept. Please see the Collection Development Policy for more details.
All other book donations are generally passed along to the Friends of the Library, which sells them at annual book sales and generously uses the proceeds to support the library. Donations can be made at the Palm Coast Branch Library during the specified times below.
Location And Hours For Donating Books And Media To The Library
Please bring all donations to the west side entrance on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Thursdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and the 1st Saturday of the month from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Donations are not accepted on any other day, time, or location because donations are managed by volunteers, not library staff.
Types of Donations Accepted:
We will accept up to 100 items per donor in any combination of hardback, paperback, or media. We ask that items are free of mold, markings, and damage and are in generally good condition.
- Hardcover: fiction and non-fiction
- Paperbacks: trade and mass-market
- Media: Blu-rays, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks
- Puzzles
- Magazines
- Children’s and YA
- Etc.
We regret that we cannot accept textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, and cassette tapes.
