Emily Weber, FHS’s Health Educator since March 2021, champions sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education. With five years dedicated to SRH, she empowers individuals of all ages to seize control of their well-being. Pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) at NWU, she champions social justice causes, aiming to foster positive change. Elena Chavez has been serving as a WIC Clerk at Family Health Services since January 2023. In her role, she has had the opportunity to visit various places in Nebraska, meeting incredible people and children at clinics. Her bilingual upbringing allows her to help more people feel welcomed. Elena shares her knowledge about children growing up healthy, even though she doesn’t have kids herself, by helping her nieces and nephews. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, discovering new places, spending time with family, and traveling.

Yuri Palomo has been serving as a WIC Clerk at Family Health Services since 2017. Growing up bilingual has provided her with the opportunity to develop her communication skills and help more people feel welcomed. Living in a rural community her entire life has grown her passion for helping others. In her personal time, Yuri enjoys going on walks, baking, traveling, and spending time with family.
Why Family Health Services: Yuri recognizes the need in the community for translation services and is glad to help new immigrants obtain services from WIC. She finds fulfillment in contributing to the well- being of immigrant populations and helping individuals navigate the healthcare system.

Dr. Jessi Hitchins, PhD, became the Executive Director at Family Health Services, Inc. in February 2024. With a profound dedication to gender and sexuality justice, Dr. Hitchins is honored to lead an organization committed to ensuring accessibility for all participants and patients. Having benefited from similar programs in her youth in rural Illinois, she understands their impact firsthand. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds joy in amateur rock climbing, triathlons, and cherished moments on her porch rockers with her partner. Dr. Hitchins eagerly anticipates her first marathon this November, embodying her passion for personal and community wellness. Why Family Health Services: Dr. Hitchins is drawn to Family Health Services commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and inclusive healthcare resources. She believes in ensuring healthcare is available regardless of location, income, or background, aligning with her dedication to gender justice work and promoting healthcare as a human right. Joy Conradt, LPN (she|her) since 2005, serves as Operations Director for FHSI. Growing up near Tecumseh, Nebraska, Joy was thankful for programs like those at Family Health Services and WIC. She is passionate about sexual health advocacy and educating teens about birth control, safe relationships, and safe sex. Joy wants to give back what she received and create a world where everyone can thrive. Beyond work, she enjoys outdoor activities like riding horses, barrel racing, and playing with her standard poodles. Why Family Health Services: Joy’s dedication to sexual health advocacy and her personal connection to the services provided by Family Health Services drive her commitment to the organization. She believes in empowering individuals with knowledge and ensuring access to essential healthcare resources. Chris Blum, CFRE, Collaborative Partnerships Director Chris Blum joined Family Health Services, Choice Family Health Care, and People’s Health in February 2026. Chris has 33 years of nonprofit leadership experience. He has spent his career making every team better and every company or organization more efficient and more profitable. Chris is skilled at recruiting people with talents and skills which complement his to make the organization stronger. In Nebraska, he has served as the Executive Director for the Heartland Cancer Foundation, Business Development Manager for the Nebraska Safety Council, Chief Philanthropy Officer for the Nebraska Children’s Home Society, and the Scout Executive/CEO for the Cornhusker Council, Boy Scouts of America. He served in a variety of positions during a 25-year career in the Boy Scouts, with assignments in South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas. Chris has a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Northwest Missouri State University. Chris provides strategic and professional leadership for all development efforts for each organization. He works with volunteers and other stakeholders to prospect, cultivate, and solicit support for growing programs by leveraging all available resources. Chris’ professional goals are to develop long-term relationships with donors, friends, and community partners by deeply engaging them to realize their charitable goals and maximize their gifts of time, talent, and treasure to the organizations. Chris and his wife, Lori, are Nebraska natives (Omaha and Wahoo). They have a son, CJ, who attends Lincoln Northeast High School and participates in marching band, cross country, and baseball. Chris currently coaches junior high cross country and track for St. John’s Catholic School, serves on the Alumni Board of Directors for Northwest Missouri State, and serves as the Area Director for the Lincoln Empower Breakfast.
