Fond du Lac Area Writers

We are always looking for guest speakers to talk to us about their published works or any writing-related topics that they can enlighten us about.  To aid these speakers, we offer the following guidelines, so they know what will work best for our club.

Published authors

First, we appreciate your taking the time to tell us about your work.  Although we can’t pay you for your time, we hope that the publicity will be of some use.  And, if you have books, etc. to sell, some of our attendees may purchase some from you.

Second, some clarification:  You are undoubtedly enthusiastic about sharing the topic of your writings.  While this content is of great value to most other groups, as a group of writers, we are more interested in the writing aspects.  To that end, the following questions may give you some idea of the kind of information that would most interest our members.

• When did you begin to write?
• What inspired you to write?
• How do you work?
• Do you have a specific schedule to write?
• Do you have a agent?
  • If so, how did you find one?
  • Are you pleased with him or her?
  • Do you believe he or she was a great benefit to you?
• How did you find a publisher?
• How is your book, column or (?) doing?
• What kind of feedback have you gotten?
• What are you plans for the future?
• What advice do you have for other writers?
• Is there any other information that you wish to share?
