The Jefferson County Impact Scholarship is a scholarship for students who are awarded a Pell Grant as determined by the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and who both live in and attend a private, parochial, or accredited home school in Jefferson County (Ky). As a last dollar scholarship, awards will cover the cost of tuition each semester after all federal and state aid have been applied. The scholarship may be used to earn an associate degree, workforce credential or up to 60 undergraduate credit hours at any Kentucky Community and Technical College including Jefferson Community and Technical College, or Simmons College of Kentucky.
In addition, students from households earning less than $47,000 annually will automatically receive $1,100 Opportunity Grants for each fall and spring semester (must be enrolled a minimum of 9 hours and remain in good academic standing) to assist in non-tuition costs such as books, healthcare, transportation and more.

Eligibility
What is a Pell Grant and how do I qualify?
Pell Grants are federal financial aid awards typically awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. Pell Grants are not loans and do not have to be repaid. Qualification is determined based on information provided through the Free Application for Federal Students Aid (FAFSA). To learn more about Pell Grants, visit https://studentaid.gov/understand-aid/types/grants/pell. You can also complete the Federal Student Aid Estimator to get an estimate of how much federal aid you may qualify for on the 26-27 FAFSA.
What are the GPA requirements?
There is no GPA requirement to apply for the Jefferson County Impact Scholarship.
How do I maintain my eligibility?
To maintain the scholarship each semester at a partner college, scholars must do the following:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year
- Be awarded a Pell Grant each academic year
- Enroll in and successfully complete 9 credit hours each Fall and Spring semester
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress while enrolled
- Meet monthly with your assigned Student Support Coach
I have completed my FAFSA, and my Pell Grant covers my full tuition. Should I still apply?
Yes! Eligible students with a household income of $47,000 or below will receive an Evolve502 Opportunity Grant of $1,100 per spring and fall semester (must be enrolled in 9 credit hours each semester) to assist in defraying the total cost of attendance or to help students pay for unexpected expenses which might occur while enrolled. This grant is applied even if tuition is fully covered by federal or state aid.
