8:04 PM 3/11/09 · This past Monday, so far as most of you may think, I made 2 or 3 posts. In actuality I made closer to 27, a mix of single and xposted stuff to various communities. This is actually about average for me given how I post.

I mostly write my content offline. Often when I can't sleep, periodically when a random notion hits me I'll jot it down in my PDA and eventually transcribe it in more detail to a text file, and/or while I'm watching television or listening to music.

I write just about all of my stuff through Windows notepad.exe cuz it's uncomplicated as all get out and I like it. That and view what icons and mood theme I'm currently using via ThumbsPlus!

Part of why I post so much is by the time I hit the library I've usually got about 10 or so posts ready to go, all specified as to where they're going and if they're going to be xposted or not. It's really just a matter of cutting & pasting, I rarely if ever write anything while I'm online.

Usually I post about ½ of what I've got ready to go before I hit my email. Library gives only about 2 hours of online time on any given day. I try to post so there's a good amount of time between the stuff to my own journal but don't much care how close together stuff is in whatever communities I'm posting to.

Monday and Wednesday of this week by the time I got into my email I had about 177 comments from livejournal. Both days I started about there and by the time I left the number hadn't gone down much. The influx of new comments was keeping the number up there while I processed through a hundred or so comments each day.

I get a shitload of comments. Then again I'm a member of about 500 communities so that's not such a huge surprise. Wednesday alone I had over 30 from the review of Watchmen I posted all over the bloody place.

Given there's a number of you that've traded phone numbers with me so that we can text each other, I periodically shock people that don't quite get why they post something and I tell them I can't check it out for a couple days. On average I'm usually online 3 days a week: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. Part of why I get the comment overflow is because of the gap between days I'm online, the limited amount of time I'm online, and the fact most of my posts generate comments like crazy...

...as some of you can attest to. My friendslist is a fair mix of people I actually know, ones I've added because they seemed interesting to me, and those that've read my posts elsewhere and came back to my account to see what else my head rattles out every so often.

Despite the insanity of all this, I actually stay fairly well·adjusted as the massive comments make me think I matter. Maybe not much in the grand scheme of things but every little bit counts.

...I forgot the libraries were closed.

2:21 PM 11/11/08 · Swung by Kinko's and coughed up a $20 which gave me about an hour's computer time. Not the kinda thing I'd do normally, even when I am actively employed, but I had a bunch of stuff to post that I really didn't wanna hold over until the following day...

...which would be when I post this.

While it does occasionally present problems, I write most of my stuff offline. Generally this means when I get to an online connection I'm pretty much ready to go with a bunch of prepped text files. This does save me the problem so many have when they're writing a post and then something goes all wonky on LJ and they lose the whole thing. My way I've got a "hardcopy" version to backup whatever I could lose.

Just a matter of cutting and pasting and remembering not to delete the original file until I check to see the post went through okay.

The fact I put the writing date on my posts is a little more key and troubling to some. I posted a big ol' thing Saturday and someone asked me if it was a re·post since the dates (wrote it over several days) were all from about 3 months back.

I only put the writing date on stuff I wrote offline.

Stuff I write while online, still do them up in notepad so I can save myself from whatever LJ glitch might pop up, I don't put the writing date on.

Funny thing is I don't use a spellcheck program as I usually trust myself to catch and errors while I'm writing it or if I doublecheck the post before posting. It never ceases to amaze me. when I'm reading something I just posted, how many letters I left out or grammatical errors got by me.

The other downside of going via Kinko's instead of the library was I had no chance to check my email. Hell, I barely had time to skim my friendspage. Tuesday, all told, I posted about 7 different text files. 5 of them were xposts and total they went out to probably about 20 different communities. There was my most recent rant about Proposition 8, a review of this alst week's episode of Heroes, my thoughts and opinions regarding the new series My Own Worst Enemy, one Q&A, and an interesting little adventure I had waiting for the train Monday.

Hey, when I get insomnia I've found writing usually helps me konk out after a bit.

If I could just focus on one thing I could've been published years ago.

8:03 PM 7/18/08 · Due to current circumstances, I'm clearly not online anywhere near as much as I used to be and I'm certainly not doing the 3+ posts per day you've all become accustomed to. This last Friday I did up a quick bunch in rapid succession, that I wrote up during the week prior to you're seeing them, but that's not all...

...believe it or not, I made about 20 posts this past Friday. It's just that most of them were in other communities.

Some of you that're in those comms are probably aware of this. I wouldn't go so far as to provide a full list but if you want to check what else I put up Friday you could goto ListaholicsBook·of·Lists, Free Porn the SequelHouse·of·Skin, Bunnies are Eeevil!Kill·de·Bunnies, Protectors of Gotham CityOrder·of·the·Bat, Crazy AmericansPower·to·the·People, Videos & DVDs & disc...oh my!Renting·Reviews, Television AddictionSlaves·to·the·Box, Fetish FashionVideo·Embedding, & tends to play the undeadVincent·Perez...

...that last one is 1 of 2 new comms I made within the last 2 months. If you like Vincent Perez at all you should consider joining.

Oh, in a random bit of news, since I first set it up there's been no activity from her. However, finally after all this time, she's quirkyJenny finally made use of her LJ account! Okay, it ain't much of a post but you gotta start somewhere. Thinking I may have to set her up with a new mood theme as the one I put on the account orginally seems to have atrophied somewhat.

See? When I offer to set a mood theme up for someone I'm diligent about it!

Also someone new's been posting to Fun in the BayBay·Area·HookUps and I'm not sure the posts are appropriate for there but I didn't have the chance to check them out in any great detail at a public library. Probably would've been fine but I'd just as soon not risk it where little peoples are wandering around.

8:55 AM 7/21/2008 · Scratch that idea. Apparently after she posted she's quirkyJenny switched the password I setup to that account.

Oh well.

It may be said that I practically use LJ as a chat utility, as I don't really use any of the chat programs that are out there. Because of this I have no problem going on with long conversations via the comments that each post allows. It may also be why I view those that freeze comment threads to be lacking in some quality of character.

Talk to the hand is so passe!
