Dodgers Top Prospects

The nine-time World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers have continued to dominate Major League Baseball while maintaining one of the game’s top farm systems and cultivating a bevy of high-upside prospects to prolong the team’s championship window.

Here’s a list of the Dodgers’ top prospects, according to multiple tracking sites and official sources.

No. 1: Josue De Paula – OF

Josue De Paula:

De Paula is the consensus top prospect in the franchise’s farm system. He is 20 years old, turning 21 at the beginning of the season

The lefty was born in Brooklyn, though he moved to the Dominican Republic in high school and signed with the Dodgers for $397,500 in 2022.

The outfielder is the second cousin of former NBA guards Stephon Marbury and Sebastian Telfair.

ESPN Ranking: No. 21 overall, No. 1 Dodgers prospect

Baseball America: No. 24 overall, No. 2 Dodgers prospect

MLB Pipeline: No. 15 overall, No. 1 Dodgers prospect

The Athletic: No. 20 overall, No. 2 Dodgers prospect

What Doug Says…

DePaula’s upside at the plate is what has the Dodgers so high on his potential. He has advanced strike zone awareness, doesn’t chase, hits the ball hard, and seems to always swing at the right pitches. The only question about DePaula at this point is whether the hard contact that he consistently gets will lead to more power. He hit 12 home runs in 445 plate appearances in High-A and Double-A last season. If De Paula can figure out how to get the ball to fly off his bat and into the bleachers more often, then watch out, he could end up as the top prospect in baseball.

No. 2: Zyhir Hope – OF

Zyhir Hope:

Hope was an 11th-round pick out of the 2023 MLB Draft.

The Dodgers were beaten by the Chicago Cubs for Hope in the 11th round, who picked him 14 selections ahead of Los Angeles. He signed with the team on a $400,000 bonus offer, which was money that 5th-rounders were projected to take.

However, Los Angeles managed to get their guy when it traded away Michael Busch and Yency Almonte for Jackson Ferris and Hope.

ESPN Ranking: No. 40 Overall, No. 3 Dodgers prospect

Baseball America: No. 63 Overall, No. 4 Dodgers prospect

MLB Pipeline: No. 27 Overall, No. 2 Dodgers prospect

The Athletic: No. 36 Overall, No. 3 Dodgers prospect

What Doug Says…

Off the charts bat speed. Extremely strong and athletic with thunderous raw power for a 5’10” outfielder. Hope has undeniable raw ability with the bat, but the swing decisions need to improve for him to take the next step in his development. The increase in his strikeout and whiff rates is concerning, but the potential as a highlight reel-making outfielder with a dangerous bat is still there.

No. 3: Eduardo Quintero – OF

Eduardo Quintero: Originally a catcher from Venezuela, Quintero has been moved to center field because of his athletic profile.

At six-foot, one-inch and 175 pounds, he has a promising frame to grow into as an adult, which the Dodgers believe is best served as an outfielder.

He signed with the Dodgers in 2023 on a $297,500 international amateur free agency contract.

ESPN Ranking: No. 37 Overall, No. 2 Dodgers prospect

Baseball America: No. 20 Overall, No. 1 Dodgers prospect

MLB Pipeline: No. 30 Overall, No. 3 Dodgers prospect

The Athletic: No. 9 Overall, No. 1 Dodgers prospect

What Doug Says…

He started as a catcher but has since moved to the outfield due to his advanced arm and plus athleticism. He possesses the most complete set of tools of any of the Dodgers top prospects. He’s a rare plus-hitter, plus defender, with above-average speed. His growth as a hitter seen him continue to improve his plate discipline and strike zone awareness. He drew an impressive 88 walks, which was the fourth most for any teenager at the minor league level. He can drive the ball to all fields. He has the potential to be a 20-30 home run hitter if he continues to develop. 2026 will be a pivotal year for him to see if his tools translate to the next level.

No. 4: Emil Morales – IF

Emil Morales: Morales was born in Spain, though he played baseball in the Dominican Republic.

He was signed from the 2024 international amateur free agent class for $1,897,500 by the Dodgers.

He is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 191 pounds, though scouts believe he should add a good deal of muscle to his frame.

ESPN Ranking: No. 65 Overall, No. 5 Dodgers prospect

MLB Pipeline: No. 92 Overall, No. 5 Dodgers prospect

The Athletic: No. 65 Overall, No. 6 Dodgers prospect

What Doug Says…

Big shortstop, standing at 6’3”, 191 lbs. Morales was born in Spain but trained in the Dominican Republic, where he turned heads with his unique size and strength for a middle infielder. It was a small sample, but he posted an impressive .960 OPS in 143 plate appearances for low-A as a teenager. He’s hit at every stop so far at the lower levels of the Dodgers farm system with tantalizing power that gives visions of Corey Seager-like power from a shortstop with the potential to smash 25-30 homers at the Big-League level one day.

No. 5: Mike Sirota – OF

Mike Sirota: The Dodgers drafted Sirota in the 16th round of the 2021 MLB Draft, but he ended up spurning them for college ball.

He was later drafted in the third round by the Cincinnati Reds, going 87th overall. According to MLB Pipeline, he was pegged to go in the top of the first round before suffering from a slump in his junior year.

Sirota was traded to the Dodgers in the Gavin Lux deal in January 2025.

At 22, Sirota has only two years of professional baseball, though his first year was cut short by injury, so he has only one true season as a pro.

Baseball America: No. 45 Overall, No. 3 Dodgers prospect
