CollectionSpace User Manual
The CollectionSpace User Manual provides end users with documentation on how to use the CollectionSpace staff interface and CSV Importer Tool featuring best practices, an overview of each procedures, and tips and tricks.
The User Manual, completely rewritten in 2025, requires a confluence login. It is available to all users from institutions that contribute to CollectionSpace program. First-time users, please see Accessing User Manual.
Release Notes
CollectionSpace tentatively plans two releases a calendar year. Releases are based on our roadmap which is developed in collaboration with community members, the CollectionSpace Program Manager, and the CollectionSpace Technical Lead.
The current Release of CollectionSpace is 8.2. Development is underway on the 8.3 release with anticipated release 1Q 2026. This release will focus on improvements to search and search result displays.
Technical Documentation
The CollectionSpace technical documentation is open documentation.
The technical documentation includes resources for institutions that self-host CollectionSpace including documentation for installing, configuring and upgrading CollectionSpace locally.
CollectionSpace features an API. The documentation includes resources on using the REST API.
