SCHEDULE FOR INTERVIEW APPOINTMENTS

The U.S. Embassy opens new interview appointments for tourist visas (B1/B2) every Tuesday at 9 a.m. Those with existing appointments may wish to reschedule to an earlier day by visiting: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es-co/niv. Demand for tourist visas is very high, and not everyone seeking an earlier appointment will get one. However, every Tuesday applicants will have the opportunity to try again. What is a Visa?

A citizen of a foreign country who seeks to enter the United States generally must first obtain a U.S. visa, which is placed in the traveler’s passport, a travel document issued by the traveler’s country of citizenship or nationality.

Certain international travelers may be eligible to travel to the United States without a visa if they meet the requirements for visa-free travel under the Visa Waiver Program.  The Visa section of this website is all about U.S. visas for foreign citizens to travel to the United States.  If you cannot find what you are looking for here, please visit Travel.State.gov for additional information.

Note: U.S. citizens do not need a U.S. visa for travel to the United States, but when planning travel abroad a U.S. citizen may need a visa issued by the embassy or consulate of the country they wish to visit.

The Consular Section of the United States Embassy in Bogota, in accordance with international norms on immunity, will not respond to “Derecho de Peticion” (right of petition) and “Tutela”. If you have an inquiry about consular matters, we recommend that you send it through our Visa Navigator, rather than in the format of a “Derecho de Peticion” (right of petition) or a “Tutela”, which we regret we cannot respond to. We remind you that the granting of visas is a matter of each State’s sovereignty.
