EPA gives grant to Church for White Priviledge

Apparently White Privilege now falls under the purview of the EPA. Better yet, why not give grants to churches? Even better, let’s support the next generation to buy into the Kool-aid. What happened to the separation of church and state? There is a clip of the Church leader over at the link. An earlier post of mine gives more detail in this perverse program:

EPA to study Churches, develop programs to combat climate change

But I digressed:

The Environmental Protection Agency has given $30,000 to a Unitarian church that preaches about “white privilege” and says that America is “structurally racist.”

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton, Florida, received an “environmental justice grant” for education and training about sea level rise and climate change, the agency announced Wednesday.

“In the first 2nd Hour Class On Being White led by Rev. Harris we did a privilege walk … and learned visually where we stand in terms of privilege,” she said. “Most of us fit squarely in the middle group: Neither Highly Privileged (the million-billionaires of society) nor among the impoverished locked out of society folk.”

The church provided an image of the badge, which features a “W” representing white placed behind an “A,” standing for ally, that is black, yellow, and red, representing the “people [Harris] would work with” to fight racism.

“I want to be a White Ally in the struggle for Racial Justice,” Harris said. “I don’t know what that looks like. I don’t know how I will need to become different than I already am. I just know this is the path I am on. This is part of my covenant, with Life, with myself.”

EPA’s EJ Small Grants have been a foundational piece to the portfolios of many community organizations that have gone on to make a visible difference in their communities. The 2015 grants will help organizations in 22 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands carry out projects that will educate residents about environmental issues that may impact their health, collect data about local environmental conditions, and work collaboratively to address environmental justice issues in their communities. The grants support activities that not only address a range of community concerns, but also support activities that are educating and empowering youth and the next generation of environmental stewards

Clinton Foundation spends only 15 percent giving grants

The Federalist has a well written piece that includes just how much the Founders were concerned about individuals such as the Clintons coming in to power and how to deal with it Constitutionally. Even more of a reveal is just how little the Clinton Foundation actually spends on “good works.” About 15 percent apparently. This is not new to the Clintons. Here we go:

The latest foreign payola scandal is just the latest chapter in the Clinton corruption novel. They played games with dirty cash in Arkansas. Theyplayed games with dirty cash literally in the White House. And now we know they were playing games with foreign cash while Hillary Clinton was serving as Secretary of State. The Founding Fathers who wrote the Constitution knew what could happen if U.S. officials put cash before their own country, so they banned the practice.

Meanwhile, there are the speaking fees for Bill Clinton from companies and organizations that were also donors. According to the Washington Post, these speeches netted him at least $26 million dollars.

Beyond the possible payola, there’s the little problem of it being unconstitutional to take payoffs or benefits under Article 1, Section 9.

Feds spend $402,721 on smoking detecting underwear

Oh brother, I mean big brother is here, or soon to be here. Just ask, why would the government need to develop such a thing? Just let your mind roll on that point. Anyone one want to bet that one of the Obamacare mandates will be for smokers to be hitched up to one of these gadgets?

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded  more than $400,000 to a research project involving underwear that can  detect when a person smokes cigarettes.

“The modern methods of monitoring smoking, primarily you rely on  self-report,” said Dr. Edward Sazonov, an associate professor at the  University  of Alabama who is leading the project. “There are few  devices which actually allow a more computerized health report,” he told  CNSNews.com. We can’t have that can we??

PACT

The Personal Automatic Cigarette Tracker, being developed with taxpayer money, aims to put a breathing sensor in conventional underwear and a “hand gesture” sensor in a bracelet to detect and record when a person smokes. (Photo from University of Alabama website)

The University of Alabama has received two grants totaling $402,721  for the project, which so far has produced a “very early prototype” of  the monitoring system, which — in its current state — fits like a  vest.

The Personal Automatic Cigarette Tracker (PACT for short) is intended to accurately measure when and how often  people smoke as well as how deeply they inhale. The real-time  information would be used to design strategies for smoking cessation.

“We are trying to eliminate the need for self-report from people  about how much they smoke, when they smoke, how many puffs they take  from the cigarette,” he said.

Gas stations to get grants so we can burn our food

I searched high and low for this one. Fox had reported this earlier, but try and find info on it. 15% Ethanol will destroy present day engines. Food prices are skyrocketing, so we burn our food supply. The world goes hungry, Are we nuts?  It only cost about $120,000 per pump. Thanks Hayward, nice read H/T:

HaywardEconBlog:

What a way to start the day. I sit down with a nice cup of coffee and this gem pops out from the WSJ….Grants and subsidized loans to install new gas pumps so we can sell gasoline that has even more ethanol (E-85)  which everyone, but the ethanol lobby, believes is bad policy…How was this NOT low hanging budget fruit subject to cutting in the budget battle that went deep into the night?

The Secretary of Agriculture declined to say how much the program would cost because he did not know how many station owners (or oil companies) would take advantage of the program…Fair enough, I get that. But a better question for him from would have been how much has been budgeted for such a program.  THAT he should know.  Wish the reporter had asked that. OR better yet, a budget-cutting ELECTED official…Just sayin’…

“””The Department of Agriculture will soon be helping gasoline stations install new pumps that can dispense fuel with higher ethanol content, USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack said.

The USDA will soon offer grants and loan guarantees for the installation of costly new “blender pumps” so drivers can purchase fuel with a higher ratio of corn-based ethanol.

Most gasoline sold in the U.S. is 10% ethanol, but a growing fleet of flexible-fuel vehicles can run on an 85%-ethanol blend, or E85. However, there are fewer pumps available to dispense it, Mr. Vilsack said.

In the U.S., only about 2,350 fueling stations out of more than 110,000 offer E85 pumps, according to the USDA.

HUD Offers Millions in Grants to Remove Lead-Based Paint in Lower-Income Homes

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is making $110 million in grants available to help eliminate lead-based paint from lower-income homes to protect young children from lead poisoning.
The grants to states and local governments are being offered through HUD’s Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control and Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Programs.
HUD says its mission is to “create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all.” Now that is a mission!!

And for those of us who would like to have a contractor come out and do “a bit of  a feel better about my sinking home value” and have a some painting done, good luck. We pay.The EPA now has of course, weighed in with some great regs.: enjoy! In the mean time, don’t chew on the window sill. Hint: It is up to you to prove the date of your paint– after 1978– I know~

http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/renovation.htm

EPA requires that firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes, child care facilities and schools be certified by EPA and that they use certified renovators who are trained by EPA-approved training providers to follow lead-safe work practices. Individuals can become certified renovators by taking an eight-hour training course from an EPA-approved training provider.

Under the rule, beginning April 22, 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
