Obama’s Three Women Who Brought Him His Third Term

“Obama dubbed his all-female senior national security team “The Furies.” Avril, Lisa, and I commanded significant power behind the scenes and were the three women Obama most loved to tease. Never before, I am sure, had such small packages wielded such national security punch.” says Susan Rice.

“The three of us were quite conscious of the rare gift we enjoyed of having two other strong, supportive women as our closest colleagues. Between the three of us, there was always candor and trust.” In an essay and audio excerpt from her memoir, “Tough Love,” former National Security Advisor Susan Rice reflects on the bond between herself, Avril Haines and Lisa Monaco that made them President Obama’s “Furies.” In October 2019 a post entitled

Three Women Who Came Together to Help Change the White House

Written by Susan Rice. She was hawking her book. Knowing what we know now, it is a worthy pursuit to revisit her words. Let’s see where we are with the three of them today. Monaco flies under the radar, but reports are that she is the one running the AG’s office as Deputy. Garland is the figure head. Haines? At the moment she as DNI is rifling through the documents vacuumed up at Mar-a-Largo. Rice? No need to elaborate on that one. I highly recommend reading the full post linked above.

Tough Love

In my last two years as NSA, I was extremely fortunate to have the invaluable input, support, and counsel of my sisters, Avril Haines and Lisa Monaco. Avril replaced the wonderful Tony Blinken, who became deputy secretary of state in December 2014.

A physicist, pilot, bookstore owner, lawyer, and former deputy White House counsel for national security and deputy director of the CIA, with years of additional work in the Senate and at the State Department, Avril is brilliant and brought deep knowledge and broad experience back to the NSC. Already well-known to the president and NSC staff, she adapted easily to her new role. Patient, wise, and calm, Avril helped soothe my sharper impulses with her uniquely disarming combination of love and reason.

Another accomplished lawyer, Lisa had served as a federal prosecutor, chief of staff to FBI director Robert Mueller, and most recently as assistant attorney general for national security when President Obama appointed her his homeland security and counterterrorism advisor in March 2013. Tough, plainspoken, with an acerbic wit and a well-buried soft streak, Lisa took no prisoners in all she did — from killing terrorists to punishing cyber criminals.

Together, we led and managed the predominantly white male national security cabinet and deputies.

Often, Lisa, Avril, and I had to combine our collective efforts to tame a balky bureaucracy and deliver to the president the policy outcomes he sought. That variously entailed massaging, cajoling, pressing, and, if necessary, rolling certain agencies to achieve presidential objectives, which they initially resisted. These ranged from safely and responsibly but substantially increasing refugee admissions numbers and reducing the prison population at Guantánamo, to requiring public reporting by DOD and CIA of the number of civilians accidentally killed in counterterrorism operations, and to ensuring that as we reconfigured our military presence in Afghanistan, we did not fall back into the trap of having Americans directly fighting the Taliban, except in clear cases of self-defense.

All in place. Obama himself proclaiming the coup de tat that was to be. Not by Trump but by the man himself.

The same Avril that wants to quickly investigate the Trump documents and push forward an indictment?

Throw in Holder who’s advising the Jan 6 committee. What a gang intent of rebuilding America for Barry when he couldn’t finish the job

Monaco’s ties to Biden go back to the 1990s, when she was a junior staffer on the Senate Judiciary Committee he led. From there, she went to law school and became a federal prosecutor, rising quickly in the Justice Department and eventually joining the team that prosecuted Enron executives over that firm’s self-destructive financial trickery. That group of lawyers would later hold some of the most important posts inside the agency.

Andrew Weissmann, a former prosecutor who was part of the Enron team, said Monaco has always shown “the same rigorous and dispassionate examination of the law and facts, unafraid of making the tough calls necessary to serve the public interest.” She was, he said, “the truly ideal choice” to become deputy attorney general, a job law enforcement professionals call “the DAG.”

Biden has said Garland, Monaco and the rest of his Justice Department picks are tasked with restoring the Justice Department’s independence from partisan politics and adherence to the rule of law after the Trump years, when the president regularly demanded the department investigate his political opponents and exonerate his friends and allies. Welcome to the Coup d’état underway – Brennan and Democrats urge anarchy

Intervention of the Sabine Women

The Coup d’état is underway. Make no mistake. The Dems are creating anarchy and the rate we are going may be successful. The Kavanaugh debacle with the Democrats not even willing to give Grassley a copy of the unredacted letter written by Ford with her claims.

More scurrilous are the efforts by the Democrats to keep and support Rosenstein’s henchmen in refusing an order from Trump to totally declassify numerous documents bearing on the absurd Russia Russia Russia investigation.

Wish America luck, a few more months and it looks like we will know the answer. The GOP caving on Kavanaugh, add information withheld from the White House will do it. The topper will be losing the November election to the Dems and there will be no turning back.

Here are two excerpts that deserve the complete read.

UPDATE: Video of Brennan has been added below! How Arrogant! Not the Andrea Mitchell interview.

The combination of arrogance, hubris and desperation within a letter (pdf here) from the four Democrats on the intelligence oversight Gang of Eight, is palpable even in text format.

Legislative branch members: Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff and Mark Warner write a letter today to Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and FBI Director Christopher Wray, demanding the executive branch cabinet members withhold information from the White House.

Perhaps more stunningly, and extra-constitutionally (meaning outside the framework of constitutional separation of power), within the jaw-dropping letter the four Democrats outline previous verbal conversations and current agreements with Coats, Rosenstein and Wray where the Cabinet officers agreed to keep information away from the White House Chief Executive, the President.

That third paragraph is particularly interesting: …”the verbal assurance you provided us that DOJ and FBI would not provide the White House“…

Now from the Communist Brennan:

Former CIA director and MSNBC contributor John Brennan called on FBI director Christopher Wray, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to “push back” on any directive from the White House that may have a “negative impact” on the Mueller investigation.

Brennan called on “individuals of conscience” in the administration to remember that they took an oath of office not an oath to Donald Trump. Moments prior Brennan admonished people who are abusing their powers to “protect” Trump.

“I think that they should continue to push, push, push, and if Mr. Tump and the White House does not relent, then they have some decisions to make, and whether or not they are going to the just not follow that direction and be fired or to resign,” Brennan said of the trio.

“A number of individuals are trying to protect Mr. Trump and abusing their authorities and their powers, whether it be in Congress or within the executive branch,” Brennan said on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports. “And this is something that I am hoping that individuals of conscience are going to stop and prevent because I am concerned that this is just one indication that Mr. Trump is going to increasingly look for steps to take in order to further to try to subvert the Mueller investigation.” Video and more over at  Real Clear Politics

Clapper rats out Obama – Obama behind the whole Trump thing

If you are losing your security clearance and are being paid by CNN, I guess the only thing one can do is offer up Obama as collateral for one’s paycheck. Why else should CNN pay Clapper? No access to intelligence anymore to spin information being fed from his Obama’s leftovers. But then again, Strozk had set the table in one of his love notes to Page.

Former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper admitted in a CNN interview Saturday that former President Obama instigated the ongoing investigations into Donald Trump and those in his orbit.

Speaking with CNN‘s Anderson Cooper, Clapper let slip:

If it weren’t for President Obama we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set up a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today including Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation. President Obama is responsible for that. It was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place.

Recall in May, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) fired off a letter to the Department of Justice  demanding unredacted versions of text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and former bureau attorney Lisa Page, including one exchange which took place after Strzok had returned from London as part of the recently launched “Operation Crossfire Hurricane”  referring to the White House “running” an unknown investigation.

Strzok had been in London to interview Australian ambassador Alexander Downer about a drunken conversation with Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos, who – after reportedly being fed information – mentioned Russia having Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Strzok: And hi. Went well, best we could have expected. Other than [REDACTED] quote: “the White House is running this.” My answer, “well, maybe for you they are.” And of course, I was planning on telling this guy, thanks for coming, we’ve got an hour, but with Bill [Priestap] there, I’ve got no control….

Page: Yeah, whatever (re the WH comment). We’ve got the emails that say otherwise.

Why won’t Trump order the release the entire FISA warrant? That’s a puzzle to me.

Clapper: ‘Thinking Of Something Else’ When he Lied To Congress

Keep in mind, Senator Wyden knows that metadata on every single one of us is being kept at the Utah Data Center.

Every itty bitty bit of everything we do say or may even be thinking is kept. Stored in a facility that is large enough to store everyone’s information for one hundred years. Wyden is very upset about it. He knowingly wants to nail Clapper down. Clapper knows he knows.

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper claimed Tuesday that he “made a mistake,” but that he didn’t lie when he told Sen. Ron Wyden in 2013 that the National Security Agency doesn’t collect data on Americans.

Clapper was defending himself on “The View” after President Donald Trump called him a “lying machine.”

A report from The Guardian later that year showed that Clapper’s statement was false, that the NSA does collect phone metadata on millions of Americans.

We have the short Wyden take down.

Ron Wyden’s exchange with Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. 2013

Then Clapper on “The View” – move it along to about 3:00 if your short on time:

I will add the chilling clip of the Utah Data Center being built. It is now up and running. He states on The View that he was in “a bad place” to reveal he was spying essentially on every single one of us, since the program was Classified.

UPDATE: For an even better explaining, see an old post 2013. Clapper offers his “metaphor” explanation as to why he lied.

NSA Utah Data Spy Center Revealed

This is what Clapper termed “Classified” and that is “The bad place he was in” ???  We weren’t suppose to know about it!!

Filmed from Redwood Road, you can see the progress of the NSA’s Utah Data Center also called the NSA Spy Center.
