Cuba to lift ban on buying property

Here is our solution. Once we get our Fat Cats, millionaires and billionaires to sell their corporate jets and share in the rest of the sacrifice by paying the remaining 30 percent of the national tax burden to the Government, we too can live as the Cubans do. What a novel idea, just trade our almost worthless homes with each other.

Cubans will be allowed to buy and sell property for the first time in more than 50 years.

In Cuba, the most common way to buy a new home is to barter your old one for it, as selling property is illegal.

But due to a change in the law, Cubans for the first time in more than 50 years will be allowed to purchase property. Note the lady in the clip who catches on that by fixing up her home it will be worth more. Ah, the nasty seeds of a free market economy

Change is coming slowly apparently.  From Al Jazeera

Fidel Castro Now a Bilderberg Group Conspiracy Theorist

Must admit, we have been enjoying the last rays of summer, so  missed this when it hit. This was an interesting find, Castro taken a leap into this abyss. We did a story back in June.. so here is a link back to it, with the list of attendees. I think the comments from the Miami blog says it all. It is interesting that most folks mock at those who inquire “What is this all about?”  Leaked list of attendees at the Bilderberg Go for it here  It links out to a Bilderberg  site- feel free to roam about there into the Heartland of Bilderberg.

From the  Miami New Times:

Fidel Castro has a new favorite book: Daniel Estulin’s The True Story of the Bilderberg Group, which is more or less full of conspiracy theories.

The Bilderberg group basically amount to an annual meeting of 130 of the world’s most powerful and influential people. Everyone from the Clintons to Colin Powell and Condelezza Rice have attended at one point or another. But because of the meeting’s secrecy, it’s ripe ground for conspiracy theorists.

Usually it’s political extremists on both the left or the right who make a muck about the group. Some think it aims to promote capitalist domination, others think it’s setting up a socialist New World Order.

Castro himself made no direct comments about the group, but the quotes he selected, interestingly, seem to line up more with the “socialist one world government” school of Bilderberg theorists.

Comments:

Tom says:
130 of the worlds most powerful and influential people meet every year to just hang out and BBQ. Do you really believe that Mr. Kyle Munzenrieder? Thanks for nothing Kyle, way to be a tool.

Mark Penrose says:

Just because Obama and Hillary secretly went to a meeting in 08 when the entire worldwide media lost track of both of them for 2 days , doesn’t mean there is anything to be suspicious of

Cuban MDs sue in US over alleged forced labor

So Hollyweird, so how about ole Castro? You think that its so fine living the Marxist Lifestyle.. electric now and then, energy- sometimes? Well, step up and tells us about it.

MIAMI — Seven Cuban doctors and a nurse who claim they were made to work against their will in Venezuela have filed a lawsuit in Miami’s federal court.

The lawsuit seeks at least $60 million for each plaintiff, naming Cuba, Venezuela and Venezuela’s state-run oil company as defendants.

The plaintiffs claim they were forced into servitude and paid low wages to help repay Cuba’s oil-related debts to Venezuela. All are now living in the United States.

A Miami federal judge in 2008 awarded $80 million to three Cubans who claimed they were forced into slave labor at a shipyard on the island of Curacao.

The doctors say that faced with precarious conditions and material needs in Cuba, they were deceived and threatened by Cuban authorities and taken by force to work in violent places in Venezuela, including the jungle and the frontier with Colombia.

The plaintiffs are a part of a mission called “Barrio Adentro.” They say they are held in captivity in crowded lodgings or in houses with families affiliated with the Venezuelan regime. They say they are under strict control, surveillance, and threats by “slave hunters”: Venezuelan security officials.

The plaintiffs say they work under an agreement between the two governments, through Petroleos de Venezuela.

The “Convenio Integral de Cooperacion” allows forced labor by doctors in exchange for 100,000 barrels of oil a day, according to the complaint.

The plaintiffs say they are “living illegally as prisoners” and work without licenses to practice in Venezuela. If they protest, they are returned to Cuba and suffer severe and permanent consequences, they

When dear leader is done with banks, cars, newspapers, healthcare,  school loans etc….he’ll be checking appliances like his idol:

“The Cuban government has purchased 2 million of the small cookers for distribution to Cuban families, many of whom heat rice with kerosene stoves.

Lee Adams, the chairman of the USA Rice Federation, told Castro he admired the efforts the Cuban president was making. “I find myself thinking about how much the United States could save if our president was looking at the shape of the bottoms of appliances,” he noted.”
