Literature is constantly changing, including through heritage. In Montreal, Friday April 28, 2023, during the opening ceremony of the 25th edition of the Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival, five writers attempt to answer the question: What colour will the future be? ESTHER DUFLO RECEIVES THE 2023 PRIX LUMIÈRES SUR LES INÉGALITÉS
The French economist Esther Duflo, Abdul Latif Jameel Professor of Poverty Reduction and Development Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Department of Economics and co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2019, receives the 2023 Prix Lumières sur les inégalités, awarded in partnership with the Observatoire québécois des inégalités.

MICHEL MARC BOUCHARD RECEIVES THE 2023 BLUE METROPOLIS VIOLET PRIZE
Internationally renowned theatre artist Michel Marc Bouchard, who made his name with the plays Lilies, The orphan muses, Tom at the farm, and more recently as the librettist of La Beauté du monde at the Opéra de Montréal, receives the 2032 Blue Metropolis Violet Literary Prize. That Prize is awarded to a Canadian LGBTQ writer for their body of work.

DUNCAN MERCREDI RECEIVES THE 2023 FIRST PEOPLES PRIZE
Winnipeg Cree and Metis poet, writer and storyteller Duncan Mercredi receives the 2023 Blue Metropolis First Peoples Prize (English category) for his body of work, including Spirit of the Wolf: Raise Your Voice and The Duke of Windsor: Wolf Sings the Blue.

ALL LANGAGES OF THE WORLD
A variety of languages are now being used, either in everyday life or in classical studies, alongside the traditional majority languages in use. What do these other languages bring? What worlds? What do they say? A defence and illustration of some of these languages with speakers of Catalan, Welsh, Ojibway.
