The Post Settings panel allows you to control how posts are fetched and displayed in all post-related blocks (such as Grid, List, Slider, Hero Banner, etc.). These settings help you filter content, adjust ordering, and manage layout behavior.
Below is a detailed explanation of each option:
1. Select Posts Type #
Choose the type of content you want to display.
Options:
- Posts – Displays regular blog posts (default).
- (If available) Custom Post Types – Displays other post types registered on your site.
Use this option when you want to show specific content types instead of standard blog posts.
2. Order By #
Controls how posts are sorted.
Example Option:
- Newest to Oldest – Displays the most recently published posts first.
- Oldest to Newest
- A – Z
- Z – A
This setting helps prioritize fresh or specific content.
3. Select Taxonomy #
Defines how posts are filtered.
Default Option:
- Categories
- Tags
- Post Badges
If your website uses custom taxonomies, they may also appear here.
4. Filter by Category #
Allows you to display posts from specific categories.
- Select one or multiple categories.
- If no category is selected, posts from all categories will be shown.
- Ensure posts are properly assigned to categories for accurate filtering.
💡 Tip: For demo-like layouts, match the categories used in the pattern design.
5. Number of Posts #
Controls how many posts will be displayed in the block.
Example:
4→ The block will display 4 posts.
Adjust this number depending on:
- Layout design
- Available space
- Website performance considerations
6. Enable Pagination #
When enabled, pagination links will appear below the posts.
This allows visitors to:
- Navigate to additional posts
- Browse older content without overcrowding the layout
Best used for Grid and List layouts with larger content sections.
7. Number of Items to Offset #
This option skips a specific number of posts before displaying results.
Example:
- If set to
2, the first 2 latest posts will be skipped, and the block will start displaying from the 3rd post.
This is useful when:
- You already displayed featured posts in another block.
- You want to avoid duplicate content on the same page.
Best Practice Recommendation #
- Use Category Filtering to organize homepage sections.
- Use Offset to prevent repeated posts across multiple blocks.
- Avoid setting very high post counts for better performance.
- Enable pagination for larger blog sections.
These Post Settings give you full control over how content is dynamically displayed across your website.
