CURRENT
Starting Feb 19th, 2108 – I will be teaching Advanced Microeconomics II at PIDE. In this course, I will try to teach both Experimental Economics, and also Agent Based Modeling. Notices about the course will be posted on this blog, while resource materials will be stored on the Google Website: Exp Econ 2018
For the Experimental Economics Course, I will be using the textbook by Davis & Holt entitled “Experimental Economics” published in 1993 by Princeton University Press. We will start the course by studying the Oral Double Auction, discussed in Chapter 1 of this book. We will run several experiments on the students in the class, so that they understand the game. Then we will try to create an agent based model which gives results similar to the results we obtained in the real world experiment. This is meant to teach students the process of modelling, which involves trying to replicate real world results using a simplified and artificial model.
For more detailed outlines, and also individual lectures on diverse topics, see my personal website: https://asadzaman.net. For another list, and links, see TEN COURSES.
