Just a heads up: We have officially moved! I'm sure most of you are well aware of Livejournal's actions recently and don't need a recap. Instead, I would like to extend an invitation to players who wish to play at ADR. While this community will remain open for those who wish to continue using it, our mirror at Dreamwidth is where all updates will take place from now on, and we'll have a mingle post to kick off the new community in just a bit. Dreamwidth is still running their open account creation, but if you want to join at a later date, all you have to do is shoot me off a note and I'll be happy to get an invite code for you. :D I also want to thank all you players -past, present, and future- for making this community a million times more wonderful than I ever could have imagined. I hope we'll see you soon! abyssdressing

[It's a war zone.]
[Yes, it is quite honestly a war zone in here.]
[Natalia has managed to borrow a kitchen, and there are pots, pans, mixing bowls and dishes strewn about the place - some stacked five or six high and rocking precariously to and fro. Honestly, how could she not? After all, the end of the year is upon this place as well, isn't it? And with so many familiar faces around, Natalia could hardly sit by doing nothing. So she's decided to hone her cooking skills in order to prepare a winter meal for her companions...and her not!companions and... And those other people who are rather difficult to speak with, but who are acquaintances nevertheless.]
[There are a few problems, though. The least of which being the "soup" that - rather than just boiling - is beginning to smoke. Or the chicken in the oven which is well on its way to becoming "extra crispy". In the midst of it all is an aproned Natalia, concentrating intently on a recipe card lest she make a mess of things.]
There must be a mistake. How can I possibly be expected to let a pudding "stand"?

[It was hard getting used to life as nobility again. Guy kept finding himself doing things - getting the groceries, making himself meals, even cleaning - things that the maids would usually do for a count. He knew he was probably looked down on it, and that Peony was encouraging him to hire some maids (which tended to present its own problems), but... it felt too weird, going from the one serving others to the one being served.
As such, he's done a little grocery shopping of his own today. He's a bit preoccupied looking down at said groceries, making sure he's got everything.
And then he looks up.]
Oh man, now where am I?
[It takes him less than half a second that none of the buildings here look like those in Grand Chokmah. He looks behind him, back the way he came from. Nothing there. And so he wanders, looking for some sign of how to get home. Holding a bag of groceries he really will need to put down sometime...]
|
[You get no warning and no chance to prepare.
Nephry didn't get those things either, when her home was attacked!
Now she's there near the front of a building, staggering a little ways until she sinks to her knees. For a while she'll try to keep herself upright with her arm. If no one finds her fast enough, she'll fail at that, too.]
[[ooc: Testing a something. Hello ADR!]]

[Anise was busy setting up what could only be described as something fabulous for a certain occasion today. Silver and gold streamers decorated the edge of a Malkuth blue table cloth. Rainbow confetti bits decorated all around a cake stand that held a giant white cake. The boarder and letters were in black and happened to say a very special message to a certain person.
"Happy Birthday Colonel!
You're turning ancient♥"
In the middle of the message stood a gravestone candle saying R.I.P., seems someone thinks she's funny today while trying to celebrate Jade's birthday. Regardless of her humor, she apparently is expecting a lot of people to have cake.
Come enjoy some whether or not you're the birthday boy~?]

So, it seems to me that this place is simply for running amuck. That, and I've met people I've known previously in different.. forms.
[Hmm... Thinking.]
So, I suppose that means Van is alive in some form or another. [Though he wonders if any of the "Vans" here are from his world.]

[There's a Luke with bone glasses wandering around in your town, ADR! Though you'll probably hear him before you see him. Luke's got a massive text book on the advanced uses of fonons tucked under one arm, while his other hand is pressed against his stomach, whimpering as it grumbles impossibly loud.]
Aaaannnh... I need food... I wish there was someone around here I could eat...
[No, seriously, you heard that right. Where the hell is Dist when you need him? It's not like anyone will miss him!]
|
[Natalia looks around herself cautiously and adjusts her quiver strap. Only moments before she had been following behind Luke and the others as they made their way through the desert, and now they have all seemingly left her! Luke... wouldn't abandon her, would he? Certainly not after he had promised! ...Unless perhaps in his eagerness to join up with Dorian General Grants her very presence had somehow escaped his mind. However, that's not something she wishes to dwell upon for very long.]
Luke...? Luke! Just what is the meaning of this! Did you not agree to let me accompany you? I demand that you return immediately!
[No, no... this is silly; demands never work with him. Natalia takes a deep breath and starts forward. She can't prove him right about not belonging outside the castle. She must simply have gotten herself turned around; she'll catch up to them on her own. Definitely.]
[[OOC: Post-factory, pre-Akzeriuth. Somewhere around there!]]

[Something's not quite right here, so naturally, it really must be wrong. After all, who just leaves a scrumptious looking triple layer cake with butter cream frosting just sitting on a table in the middle of a street? Certainly not a dorky not-quite-alive replica on the look out for specimens that honestly thinks humans are dumb enough to fall for this. Nope, not at all.]

[This Asch had barely shown his face around here since he had arrived here after so many months ago.
However, now this Asch can be found sitting in what it looks like to be a park. Rather peacefully for that matter, until that peace is interrupted by the sound of a chant, then a familiar fonic arte that could easily be identified as Icicle Rain hit a nearby training dummy he had set up.
He still had to train. Despite eighteen years of having peace back at his Auldrant, old habits were hard to break. He'd still find himself training, like he was doing now.
Though, unlike 18 years ago where he would have bite anyone's head off from being disturbed, he would not mind the company, or disturbance.]
[ooc; All purpose bother the Asch who's definitely a girl post.]

[This is certainly a different world all right. No one knows what Tethe'alla or any of its cities are, there are no royal clothes, the houses are for the middle class at best, and Luke doesn't have to continue on his journey to die.
Yet some things are entirely the same. Those heart pains from Asch never stopped nor slowed, and it makes him concerned. His medicine isn't even here, and that makes his condition even worse; the pains last longer and linger, and he's sure it tears apart his heart the more it happens. If he's stuck here... What if he reaches his time? What if Luke had to be there to see it? He can only imagine the panic in his brother's eyes, and the despair.
So, Asch is doing something that he never thought of doing back in his world: searching for a cure, or at least something to slow down the process. He's in the library, and several books on medicine and heart problems are laid out on the table, some open to certain pages, and some closed, having not been touched yet. He's reading one in particular, a rather complicated book on the workings of the heart, yet he seems to understand.
Beside him is a notebook with notes he's taking on the subject as well as his own condition: a sketch of the heart and lines pointing out what certain things are above the notes.
( A nice list of boring notesCollapse )
It may be fairly easy to tell him apart from other Asches, seeing how he's much thinner, paler, and without a lot of muscle despite his training. It's not like he can do a lot of it, anyway... Right now, he's rather absorbed in his studies and note taking, so he might not notice anyone unless they approach him or speak to him.]

The full moon's glow illuminated the town in a soft, silver blue light. The streets seemed to be quiet, the air crisp with the new season. The town itself seemed to be readying for All Hallows Eve, the night when the Spirits and Ghouls come out to play and cause mischief among the living. Even though that night has yet to come, a demon lingers in waiting. She had found quite the luxurious chair, lazying in the arms as she played with a deck of playing cards. Around her was a collected mass of black candle, creating an eerie pathway up to her from the street, candelabras stood behind her chair at various heights, their arms holding well melted candles whose wax dripped down onto the stone below. If one cares to look, at the beginning of the small pathway, a sign stood, holding exactly what she was there for.
'Come and inquire about making a wish today~ Prices will be discussed after one voices what they would like."
Dare to inquire? | |

[What's this? There seems to be a note on the ground in front of you. Will you pick it up? You should. If you don't, there's about 30 more scattered around the ground... curiosity will win you over eventually. When you do, you'll find the following message:]ATTENTION CITIZENSI HAVE CAPTURED YOUR BELOVED FON MASTER PRINCESS AGAIN. If you ever wish to see the Princess again, you must first accept my challenge and defeat me! TIME IS SHORT. The Princess' life rests in your hands...!! ☐ ACCEPTED | ☐ NOT ACCEPTED[...well, you don't seem to have much choice in the matter, do you?]-- ( OOC NOTECollapse )
|
[Someone's making good use of his time here. Now that he's here, and things aren't... they aren't interfering with things at home, it's a little freer. He doesn't have to hide inside a stuffy medical facility to keep Van and the God-generals from finding out about his condition, for instance. Though unfortunately, this comes at the price of worrying what's going on at home, and what's going to happen if he can't get back in time. But for now... he'll take what freedom he can get.
Not that he has the energy to do much with that freedom, and Jade probably wouldn't be pleased if he started pushing himself too much. But it does give him the chance to do... small things.
Like go out on short walks and just look at things, things he hasn't really had the chance to see for a while, though after a couple weeks the novelty has started to wear off a little. Still, there's something to be said for being able to just sit down, take your shoes off and stick your toes in the grass, feel the cool autumn breeze and watch clouds bustle by, when you know you won't be able to do any of these things for too much longer. Though lately something about that's been bothering him...
Bother y/n?]

[And now for something completely ridiculous: a Van falls out of the sky and lands on you.]
[How fucked squished are you?]

[Luke appears in a whirl of orange and yellow, almost like flames, and then they reveal none other but a signature redhead. He's dressed a little differently, his white coat modified to look more like the Wild Saber outfit. Most notably, there's a red gem in a gold crest sitting on his collarbone. The flames are actually a translucent pair of wings, which flicker out of existence when he realizes he's out of danger. He sheathes his sword and doesn't notice that his right hand is bleeding rather profusely; he has other things to worry about right now.]
Guy? Natalia? No one told me we were playing...
[He looks around and takes in the sight of an entirely new world.]
... hide and seek.
[ooc: Hello~♥ I'm Saffy and this is my first post here! I bring you a rather stupidly complicated AU where Luke and Asch are both Tethe'alla's Chosen (sort of), except Asch is deathly ill and Luke sneaks out in his place to regenerate the world. I don't suggest poking around his journal or some of these threads unless you don't mind spoilers for Tales of Symphonia, too. He comes from just after the third seal.]
|
[By now Asch is used to finding himself in weird situations, used to being dragged around by the scruff of the neck according to the whims of the multiverse. But that doesn't mean he likes it any better than he did the first time around. In fact he likes it less because this time no higher being had the decency to wait.]
[Still, the setting is familiar. It's that place - the one they called a sort of "nexus". The one which calls forth variations of Auldrant's population. Annoying, yes, but as good a place as any to continue his project. He might even be able to enlist some help if he plays his cards right.]
[And so it is that he's gone hunting down books. As many as he can find even vaguely related to the topics at hand. You might bump into him thumbing through a hardcover being sold by a street merchant or stretching to pluck an old tome from the top shelf of the library. Chances are pretty good he's either reading or depositing works on top of growing piles of literature. Chances are also pretty good that he doesn't want his focus broken.]
|
[Some people might recognise the kid with the bad dyejob and Malkuth clothes stumbling in again. He looks a bit worse for wear, thinner and tired, and his clothes are showing the sign of rough living. The dye is fading too, although it'll be a while before his hair gets back to its natural colour.
He looks around in confusion for a bit before recognition dawns and he scowls]
This place again? I don't have time for this!
[ooc; Hey guys, updating to post-Akzeriuth o/ He at least knows about the replica business now although you might be disappointed if you're expecting an updated attitude cough]
|
[Outside and on top of a hill is a certain Asch and the little replica he took under his wing. After some playing (playing meaning Luke dragging Asch around and making him play), the two are pretty tired, and so Asch is asleep on the grass with Luke by one side and sword on the other, just in case anyone tries to disturb them.
Luke, however, is not all that tired. After about twenty minutes, he wakes up, looks at Asch... then smiles and quietly scoots away, until he can stand and wander away without disturbing him.
His definition of wandering away seems to be spotting flowers at the bottom of the hill and getting down on his hands and knees to roll down the slope towards them, giggling and laughing all the way. Once he reaches the bottom, he's right near the flowers! And with them in such close proximity, Luke starts to pick them and bundle them up in one fist. He doesn't know how to make flower crowns, but they are quite pretty, and he'd like to give them to his self-appointed big brother.
Of course, if anyone wanders his way, he'd be happy to give one of them to you, too.]
|
[There is a new redhead in town, Abyssdressing. A redhead who is currently, as it so happens, fast asleep, looking for all the world like he was probably wandering around before he finally became too exausted to continue and collapsed on a nearby bench and fell asleep. Which, in fact, is exactly what happened.Other things that someone is likely to notice, should they pay attention: This Luke is thinner and paler than normal, his feet are bare, his sword - or any kind of equipment, really - is absent, and his clothing are much different from what he usually wears, much looser and more comfortable-looking, though clearly not made for any kind of hard travel.
Still, someone should wake him up. He really doesn't look like he should be wandering around outside.][[ooc; New Luke from Gorse, I promise I'll do better with keeping up with this one's tags. This one is slightly AUed off canon, based off this horribly sad plot bunny I wrote, here.]]
