We’ve just returned from the most incredible holiday in South Africa, beautifully organised by Jo Ainscough at Aardvark Safaris. From our very first conversation, Jo guided us through the planning process with expertise and care, creating an itinerary that felt perfectly tailored to us. The entire experience was exceptional.
Communication throughout was excellent, and every detail — from restaurant bookings to tours — was thoughtfully arranged. From the moment we landed in Cape Town, we were looked after. Jo ensured we were met at every stage of the journey and seamlessly transferred to the next destination.
Our hotels in Cape Town and Franschhoek were superb, with warm, attentive staff who made our stays feel special.
The highlight of the trip was our four-night stay at Kariega River Lodge. The lodge itself was stunning, set in a breathtaking location on the Bushman River. The food and wine were delicious, and the staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly welcoming. The “welcome home shot” and hot flannel after each game drive were such thoughtful touches.
Our guide made the safari unforgettable. Every game drive was fascinating and full of excitement. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and ensured we saw an abundance of wildlife.

We have just returned from another incredible holiday arranged by Aardvark Safaris this time in Kenya. How amazing they are at ensuring that you have the most wonderful and memorable African experiences. From the moment you get off the plane at Nairobi Airport you are looked after. Our safari camps in the Masai Mara Conservancies were superb and the wildlife abundant and unforgettable. The food and hospitality everywhere was world class. It is an Aardvark superpower to take a tiny clue from us and turn it into something amazing. Thank you so much to Alice and the team.

We went to Tanzania over half term with our whole family- total of 15. We asked Aardvark to organise 2 different camp sites and enough vehicles to accommodate us all. It was absolutely brilliant- a holiday of a lifetime.

This was our 4th African trip with Aardvark as ever, they delivered a fantastic itinerary with some incredible hotels. Big difference this time was having our 7 month old baby with us - something which Aardvark catered for excellently.

Sophie at Aardvark Safaris helped us put together a wonderful week in Kenya with 2 nights at Karen Gables Hotel which was really comfortable and an oasis of calm in the middle of busy Nairobi, and then a magical 4 night stay at Spekes Camp, in the Masai Mara. Nothing was too much trouble for Sophie who guided us through the whole process, and was kind and patient throughout. The result was the most wonderful holiday for my husband and me. The staff at Spekes Camp were, without exception, kind, attentive, friendly and helpful. We had the best time. Our tent was wonderfully equipped with a great hot shower every day and the food was absolutely delicious.

The location of the Camp on the edge of the bush meant we were often in prime position for seeing visiting animals and the peace and quiet was amazing.

Robert our Guide/Driver together with Thomas our Spotter worked tirelessly and ensured we saw every single possible animal and bird from a tiny terrapin in a puddle to Maribou Storks, Vultures, Kites, Cranes, Kingfishers, Ostrich, countless prides of Lions, Zebras, Elephants, Gazelles, Impalas, Hippos, Toppis, Wildebeests, Hartebeests, Warthogs, Cheetahs, Jackals, Hyenas, and so much more, and on our last day a Leopard. It is an understatement to say this holiday was memorable - it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. We feel so lucky and would go back in a heartbeat!

What an amazing trip Lucinda at Aardvark Safaris organised for us! Everything was great and we had a fantastic trip to South Africa. All our wishes and wants were listened to and Lucinda was always at the end of the phone/email to answer any queries we had about our trip and reassure us when we had a little ‘wobble’ about travelling to South Africa before we went.
We will definitely be returning to South Africa and also plan to visit other countries in Africa too.
We wouldn’t travel to Africa with anyone else and highly recommend Aardvark Safaris.

Robyn organised a fantastic trip for us to the Maldives to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary. She helped us choose two great resorts, Alila and Mirihi, for a relaxing two centre holiday full of diving and snorkelling. We’ve travelled many times with Aardvark and their service and attention to detail is outstanding. They really know how to deliver dream holidays!

We have just returned from a life-changing family holiday organized by Aardvark Safari, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. From the initial planning stages, Lucinda and Adelie were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive to every detail, ensuring the entire experience was seamless.

We stayed in two distinct but equally incredible locations:

Lewa House: This was a very high-end start. The food was world-class, and our guide was exceptional, looking after us tirelessly for three days. A special mention to the managers, Emma and Daren, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home—even while the owners were hosting personal guests.

Serian Camp (Masai Mara): A true wilderness experience. We were lucky enough to see everything on our list, including the elusive baby cheetahs! The hippos were a constant, fascinating presence. It felt authentic and wild.

After the excitement of the bush, we finished our trip at Chale Island for Christmas. It was the perfect place to unwind and celebrate.

Traveling with children can be complex, but the kids absolutely loved every second. The expertise shown by the Aardvark team meant we could just focus on making memories. It was truly an unforgettable experience

Our Kilimanjaro trek and Zanzibar recovery was a bucket list dream come true. Working with the fab folks at Aardvark Safaris assured us that the trip was ethical and fully tailored to our priorities. I can't say enough good things about the care Jo and Christine showed us across the entire planning, booking, preparation, and travel process. I highly recommend Aardvark and can't wait travel with them again!

What a fabulous experience we had in Kenya. This was my first safari and it exceeded expectations. Robyn really listened to what we wanted and the budget we had. The trip she planned for us worked out perfectly. We felt safe and looked after from the moment we arrived until we were dropped at the airport for our return flight.
We stayed at Base Camp Masai Mara and Instinct of the Mara. All the staff at these camps were cheerful and friendly and looked after us so well. The food was delicious. Our knowledgable guides made the safari experience very special and we had some wonderful sightings.
