Drain Root Cutter Tool

Price range: €234.98 through €327.44

Heavy-duty drain root cutter tool designed for cutting roots, breaking tough blockages, and reinstating junctions. Suitable for demanding pipe cleaning and relining applications.

Description

The Drain Root Cutter Tool is designed for cutting roots, breaking tough blockages, and reinstating junctions when standard tools are not enough. It is more of a long-term investment than a consumable tool, as it may not be used every day, but when needed, you will be glad that you have it.

Out of all the tools we offer, this drain root cutter tool is my personal favorite. We named it The Shovelman™ because the tungsten carbide bits act like small shovels that rasp away obstructions.

Unlike standard reinstatement tools, this cutter features larger openings on the cutting plate, allowing debris to pass through more easily. This reduces buildup between the cutting surface and the obstruction, improving cutting efficiency.

The tool can be used with or without the outer ring, and even without the cutting plate and outer ring (similar to a drill head or mole tool). These configurations make it suitable for cutting roots, bricks, and cement deposits in pipes.

The cutting edge is forward-facing only, allowing safe use in PVC pipes while reducing the risk of pipe wall damage. Please note that caution is required when passing through 90-degree bends.

Clients have also reported excellent results when using this tool to grind away failed liners in the cured-in-place pipe relining process.

The tool can be used with or without a skid brush. Centralizing skid brushes and shaft locks are available separately and are not included with this product. The tool can also be used without a centralizing brush when navigating multiple bends.

  • Unlike a Mole or a Drill head, this tool cuts 90% of the inner diameter of the pipe simultaneously.
  • The cutting surface is 10mm smaller than the intended pipe, so a 75mm tool will be 65mm in diameter, and the 100mm will be 90mm in diameter. The 150mm will be 140mm in diameter.

Available for the following pipe sizes:

  • 75mm
  • 100mm
  • 150mm

Shaft Compatibility:

  • 8mm
  • 10mm
  • 12mm
  • Cutting tree roots in pipes
  • Removing tough blockages
  • Pipe reinstatement work
  • Breaking brick or cement obstructions
  • Pipe relining preparation work

Important note: We recommend applying thread-lock liquid to the screws during assembly.

This tool is substantially heavier than an average drill head, so we recommend that you use it with the thickest shaft possible.
