Socious is a global impact jobs and talent marketplace start-up making it easier for people to contribute to social change.

CHALLENGE

The company has a variety of technical product elements, strong team values, and a bold vision, however, these were not clearly communicated through its messaging and visual branding across channels. Y+L Projects needed to craft brand guidelines that would convey Socious’ core identity, to outlast potential pivots in their service.

IDEA AND PROJECT SCOPE

Through research, a communications audit, collaborative brand workshops, and feedback iterations, we crafted a top-level brand narrative, personality, and guidelines for communicating who they are and what they do, to their user base as well as to a generalized audience. We developed their visual brand identity from the ground up; including typography, typeface logo, colors, photography, and illustrations.

Y+L crafted photography production across three locations in Tokyo to convey the warm, quietly confident brand tone through almost editorial, documentary-style photography.
We also developed illustrations to genuinely express Socious’ values.

RESULT

Through authentic storytelling and updated visual assets, their website and social media channels more truthfully convey their core mission, to “give everyone the chance to make a difference”.
