Every marketing campaign or brand strategy needs support from a few major components: GRAPHICS (logo, website, iconography, branded graphics), IMAGERY (photography, illustration, video, animation), and LANGUAGE (search engine optimization, website content, promotional text, ad copy). Businesses often lack the resources or time to find and hire freelancers or firms to execute the necessary work in each of these categories. yesIsaid is a one-stop shop for innovative and professional work in every one. Plus, yesIsaid offers exclusive rates on pro-quality printing services, so your projects are covered from concept to execution.

yesIsaid takes its name from the final line of Molly Bloom’s soliloquy in James Joyce’s Ulysses: “and yes I said yes I will Yes.”

BIO

Throughout his life and the various directions of his career, design has always been a focus for yesIsaid’s Dan Mohr. He got his start early, serving as a designer for his New Hampshire high school’s year book, then serving as Art Director for his alma mater Bennington College’s literary journal Silo.

Straight out of college, his portfolio landed him a formative position as a Production Artist for New Orleans’ alt-newsweekly Gambit Weekly, and its tourist publication Best of New Orleans Magazine. During his tenure there, his editorial and advertising design work won awards, and he began freelancing. With his first job—a logo design for a new Aveda salon in the city—the seeds for yesIsaid were planted.

In 2002, Dan relocated to Chicago, where freelancing took on a constant—and increasingly important—role as a side-gig as he pursued different artistic and career paths. He worked for years as a bartender at a high-end wine bar and retail store, where eventually he began to do assorted design projects for the business, and ultimately became Marketing Director.

At the same time, Dan was pursuing a variety of projects in the arts—doing work in music, performance, and dance work sponsored by legacy Chicago arts organizations Links Hall and Experimental Sound Studio; playing in various bands and music ensembles at venues from the Empty Bottle to the Museum of Contemporary Art, and touring internationally with traditional choir Northern Harmony.

He collaborated for years as a Production Designer and Composer with Chicago indie film production outfits such as Split Pillow. For many years, he was a prominent arts programmer and curator, founding long-running music and dance series at Links Hall and the nascent Logan Square arts hub Comfort Station.

Before deciding to focus on his business full-time, Dan served as Director of Marketing & Communications at Experimental Sound Studio for nearly six years. During all this time, he continued building his business on the side, cultivating many long-term clients—including Middle Branch Partners, an international M&A advisory firm working in the MedTech sector; and the Goethe-Institut Chicago, the local branch of the worldwide cultural institute of Germany.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dan and his family relocated to Lexington, KY. Since the move, yesIsaid has started new collaborations with larger clients both local and national, including Blue Diamond Industries, a manufacturer of conduit with facilities around the US; the National Association for the Remodeling Industry (NARI), a collective with chapters nationwide that offers resources and prestigious awards to its members; and International College Counselors, a college-admissions consultancy.

Dan’s acumen in design, marketing, and photography proved indispensable during every single one of these projects. His broad professional experience in a multiplicity of disciplines engenders an instinctive understanding of the needs of any client—and the broadest of skillsets with which to address those needs with innovation and imagination.
