what is lattice 1?
lattice 1 is a personal/research-use portable 3-electrode ECG device. it allows you to record ECG waveforms 24/7 to an SD card, or stream them to a device of your choice in real time. 1/3🧵
With the new tariffs in place, our product Lattice 1 is now being sold at a loss. Raising the prices would go against the purpose of it - to be a highly affordable ECG product.
However - we’re still going to ship them out. We now have to re-negotiate/find new manufacturers.
Lattice 1 order update
We’re on track for shipping these out to people in late March/early April. This is later than expected in part due to higher demand than expected, and also due to the current trade situation in the US making the sourcing of components harder.
Thank you!
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're calling a "cheap ECG device" is actually Lattice 1—or, more accurately, a 75 open-source biosignal toolkit. This isn't just an ECG system, but a reprogrammable platform designed for tinkerers, educators, and biohackers.
i can give you a quick breakdown
lattice 1:
- continuous, 24/7 monitoring (no other consumer-available product does this)
- portable and will last a week or more on a single charge
- records to SD card or can connect to a live view on a computer for more advanced detection
1/2
others:
- stick your fingers on it to get a moment-in-time reading (not helpful for seeing how your heart behaves while you’re going about your life)
- costly
- cloud-locked, non privacy respecting
- worse quality recordings due to electrodes being your fingers vs leads on torso
the data will be exportable easily for whatever personal use you're interested in. no guarantees that doctors will respect the readings though, since we are not FDA certified.
lattice 1 (cont’d):
- hackable, open source
- augmentable through extension port (add more sensors, etc.)
- cheaper than most consumer devices that do ECG and provides better quality recordings since we use an accelerometer to mitigate movement artifacts
