    ‘Salim was best known for his role in the fabled 1930s Mohammedan SC team which claimed five successive Calcutta Football League titles. He also became the first player from the Indian sub-continent to play for a European club, Celtic FC.’ Know your history- didn’t know this!

    In Tower Hamlets in my City and East constituency today. A petition that attracted 1400 signatures within 24 hours abd positive political lead from @TowerHamletsNow shows what can be done through political action and processes. Proud to have supported campaign.Well done to all!

    Brampton Manor state school secures Oxbridge spots for 47 students... but will appeal ALL results over 'flawed' A Level grading system In East Ham in my GLA constituency, where I was governor in late 90s. Well done but like elsewhere what a shambles!

    Pleased to see my letter calling on London's professional football clubs to condemn the plans of far-right hooligan groups to disrupt BLM protests this weekend is gaining national coverage. With the season suspended, we must not let racism infect the game through the back door.
