My thanks to every resident and NHS worker that signed our petition & supported our campaign for more A&E beds at Northwick Park.
More importantly, thank you to the incredible staff at Northwick Park past & present, (1/2)
Today in Parliament, I highlighted @NIESRorg research showing the UK economy could grow by 3.5% with stronger mutual & community banking. Millions are locked out of affordable credit. Expanding credit unions & CDFIs could change that. @FBfACampaign@CoopParty@resp_finance
I’m proud of Harrow’s diverse, close-knit communities. Every candidate should seek to unite people, not divide them.
This matter must be taken seriously. I welcome the Tory’s Party’s statement that Mr Jackson’s comments are wholly unacceptable and their decision to suspend him.
He also suggested figures like Anthony Joshua and Dua Lipa aren’t British.
I have raised this important matter in Parliament today, because there is no place for racism in our politics.
I’m genuinely shocked and saddened by reports that Will Jackson, Conservative candidate for North Harrow, told British-born Asian MPs like Rishi Sunak and Shabana Mahmood that they are “not British” and should “go back to Pakistan.”
Today in Parliament, I highlighted Fay Bond, who took up athletics at 90 & at 101 won 🥇🥇🥇 at the US Senior Olympics, the oldest of 12k+ competitors. 💪Staying active later in life has huge benefits. When will we see a 🇬🇧 UK Senior Olympics? @TeamGB@Sport_England@_ukactive

In government, I initiated a drive to grow community and mutual banks in the UK, and I’m delighted that @peterkyle and Blair McDougall MP have taken this work forward through a new taskforce. 🤝

Community banks unlock funding for small businesses & provide affordable loans when people need them most.
They’re a powerful force in the US but still far too limited here in the UK. That needs to change.

the most affected shops. While there is still more to do, it’s reassuring that during the run-up to Christmas - traditionally a peak period for shoplifting - decisive action is being taken and repeat offenders are being banned from our town centre. (3/
Some of the most persistent offenders - who were known to target 8–10 different shops in a single day - have not been seen in the town centre since.
The Harrow BID has also played an excellent role, working closely with police and local businesses to focus on (2/
