- Shopping for kids uniform. I may be overly sensitive about this but the language for uniforms should not contribute to the existing mental health crisis young people are facing with body image. ‘Super-skinny’ ‘Skinny’ ‘Slim’, sorry @marksandspencer, it is not cool at all.
- People often ask, what is privilege, when discussed in terms of race and equity. People struggle to understand it. Privilege - is knowing you can travel around Britain at the moment, without fear of being attacked. So many friends having to cancel holidays, change plans. Sad!
- The *only* people impacted by a “prayer ban” in schools are Muslim students/staff. If your organisation’s systems/structures/policies/practises/expectations, result in unequal treatment/outcomes for a particular group, then this is the very definition of institutional racism.
- I took a picture at the start of the half-term, so thought I’d take another at the end of it. I’ve struggled a little after week 52,000!
- ***BIG ANNOUNCEMENT*** After lots of careful thought and consideration, I have decided that I will no longer be accepting any new bookings to keynote about Race & Equity. I have cancelled the vast majority of pre-booked events. I genuinely don’t believe I made a difference. 1/
- Replying to @MarcusRashfordMarcus, you therefore have a duty to share his profile, as I would not want my child taught by that person and the school ought to take immediate action. #SayNoToRacism
- As we prepare for Y13 & Y11 results. It is important to pause & reflect on what these cohorts have endured, during KS3 & KS4, when knowing more & remembering more, matters. Their schooling certainly suffered, they didn’t experience normal times but will receive ‘normal’ results.
- If you want to see RACISM. Read this thread. There’s sadly several like this. His contribution, character & achievements - are truly unparalleled. Recognised by successive Govs, Monarchs for his efforts. Yet, the hate focuses on his faith & colour. We stand with you @MuftiPatelMeet the new Chairman of OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education). The Islamification of Britain!
- Whooop whooop 🥳🥳🥳 Finally downloaded my NPQH certificate. Feels real - now that I have laid eyes on it. Thoroughly enjoyed it and thank you to @bestpracticenet @LorraineHughe20 @DanielC01979224 @DavidGraham_PHS for their support in making this possible. Watch this space 😉🤓
- It was full-on rehearsal for student council election this evening. Haajer has missed out twice, but this ‘influential woman of the future’ ain’t going to quit. She epitomises what it means to be resilient. She’s going to take the world on InshaAllah. MashAllah -so proud of her!
00:00 - I am truly honoured to have been elected on to the @CharteredColl as a member of the Council. As a Fellow and now an elected member, I hope that I am able to represent the views of teachers across the sector and make a positive difference. Thank you all for your ongoing support.
- This really upset me today. To know your pupils are hungry but will still be tested. Teachers around the country are doing their absolute best to give children a superb education, whilst becoming mini foodbanks, social care services, uniform shops. Who says we don’t care?
- 🧵Teacher Recruitment🧵 The market has CHANGED! It was deadline day for the teacher transfer market. Yes, I know 31st May is the real date, but majority of notices are handed in this week. It has been an extremely tiring wk, dozens of calls and meetings. Emotionally draining.
