- Replying to @MuftiPatel9, Crucially, I hope the award inspires our young people. I want them to know that if they work hard, serve others and have self-belief, anything is possible.
- Schools - be strong as you respond swiftly to a national crisis. Emergency services do it every day. Now it’s our turn to step up. We will ensure that Star Hubs meet the needs of key workers and vulnerable children.
- We need to stay at home. Social distancing is an unhelpful term. We aim for physical distancing and social connecting. Now more than ever, we need to look out for each other.
- Sincere thanks to all the wonderful teachers in the @StarAcademies family and beyond who have kept our children safe and maintained learning during lockdown.
- Supporting every teacher today - whether striking or at school - an opportunity for us to reflect on the immense value we should place on our 'future makers' who inspire and look after our next generation.
- Replying to @MuftiPatel7, We have one of the best education systems in the world, but also one of the most incoherent. So, after a few hours of enjoying the moment, I have redoubled my commitment to addressing the inequalities that affect the lives of our children.
- After so much worry this summer, its gratifying to see lots of our pupils from the humblest of backgrounds secure their dream course at University and the pride and relief in their parents. Never take what we do - and those who do it for us - for granted.
