    Hate is a public health disease. No one is born hating. Hate spreads like a virus through hate speech. Then it leads to direct violence. Trauma surgeons see the end result of hate. We need to take a leadership role in ending hate. Everywhere.

    Thank you to @NRA for uniting us physicians and surgeons against you. Surely, you remember what happened to the tobacco lobby? You profit off death and are a threat to the wellbeing of our patients, society and our democracy. You just messed with the wrong group. #ThisIsOurLane

    It is not brave to speak up against genocide as physicians and surgeons. It is literally our job description and responsibility to do so.

    Dr. Tamara E. O’Neal, an Emergency Medicine MD at Mercy Hospital, was shot and killed by her former fiancé today in Chicago. 54% of mass shootings involve intimate partner violence.

    This is the epitome of beautiful South-South Solidarity with #Cuba currently training 144 Palestinian medical students and post-graduate specialists. More than 53 Palestinian trainees come from #Gaza. Training to heal and not to kill has been Cuba’s contribution to the world.
