Due to the extreme heat emergency declarations, we will not turn away anyone riding to and from a cooling shelter who cannot pay fare. On buses, please tell the operator as you come on board that you're heading to a cooling center.

MAX is now 100% powered by renewable electricity. All our electric buses and facilities, too. From now on, any electricity we purchase will come from the sun or wind. This one action reduces our carbon emissions by 25%.

If the temperature reaches 100 degrees, you can take TriMet to a cooling center, even if you cannot afford fare. On buses, please tell the operator as you come on board that you’re heading to a cooling center.

Reminder: TSA has extended the mask requirement on board transit through May 3. We’re aware that the Justice Department is reviewing a court decision about the mask mandate, but masks are still required on board for now. Masks are available on all our buses and trains 😷
