Am I getting this right? Under new Tier 2, up to a thousand people can gather indoors for a concert. Yet in restaurants, you can only mix in your ‘support bubble’. And you cannot have a drink at all in a pub or bar unless with a ‘substantial meal’? Please tell me I’m wrong

The hospitality industry, one of the country’s most important sectors, is screwed and scapegoated once again. Despite restaurants,pubs and bars being responsible for a mere 2% of cases. Millions of jobs gone, thousands of businesses destroyed. Where’s the evidence? A disgrace

So Michael Gove, interviewed on @GMB, can’t define what a ‘substantial meal’ actually entails. Which obviously gives pubs a lot of leeway in their own sensible definition. Thanks, @piersmorgan and @susannareid100 for giving pubs in Tier 2 a little more of a chance of survival.
