    My 13 year old patient came out to me during his well child visit. I am the first person he ever told. This reminds me why primary care peds is so important. With great privilege comes great responsibility. I told him how proud I was of him and wished I had his courage! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

    Black folks are not looking at the Tuskegee experiment as their reason for not trusting the health care system. Black folks are looking at the way their local hospitals and health care workers treat them now! That's the only example we need!

    My 6'6" self walks into a small business with a group of friends and the shopkeeper comes over to one of my friends and asked them "what team does he play for??" while pointing to me. My friend says, "oh he's a physician so he just saves lives"

    On a plane with ~90% of people unmasked (I'm in the 10% masked) and someone starts coughing uncontrollably. Folks started staring at the person coughing with scared & angry looks. I thought to myself: "I guess they're thinking that a mask wasn't so bad after all, huh?!?"🤷🏾‍♂️😷

    Today I had three new families that came to my practice because they wanted to see a Black male pediatrician and couldn't find one in a 25 mile radius. This is why diversity in medicine matters! #BlackMedTwitter
