Nice. Just walked home in Harrogate. People celebrating the #EnglandvGermany win and a woman slurred βIβm proud to be white and British because weβre better than people like youβ at me.
Charming.

- The thing that disappoints me about this isnβt the threat of unemployment, but the implication we donβt care. We all get out of bed every day to try our very best to improve life chances, health & wellbeing for the communities we work in.TIMES: NHS bosses face sack for failing to cut waits #TomorrowsPapersToday
- Saw an unpleasant, derogatory & factually incorrect tweet about wonderful NHS nurses from overseas. Not going to give the vile message airtime. But for anyone that reads it, especially those it is directed at ignore it. You're brilliant colleagues and we β€ you. @WeNurses
- The last 8 days have been the hardest, most unusual & exhilerating. Great team effort. @yvetteoade1 @maidofyorkshire @CindyFedell @PollyMcMeekin, Andy, Jonny, Chris @SiRileyFuller @LeedsHospitals, @danfascia @robjh23, Amanda @AiredaleNHSFT, Matt, @WYAAT_Hospitals & many others.
- Disappointing. NHS Managers work really hard, join the service for the same reason as others & care about the same things. Not going to comment on the cost point, but I know this will have hurt hard working colleagues and so want to say π to all. And I googled the cost of MPsβ¦.Under the Conservatives, eye-watering sums of taxpayersβ money are paid out to managers and consultants. That means less investment in the frontline staff who our NHS relies on. Β Meanwhile many NHS workers barely earn enough to get by. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/β¦
- This afternoon we undertook a comprehensive desktop exercise to test our planned pathways for patients and staff. Facilitated by our Army colleagues it's an important part of us testing our plans and work so far. Outstanding work from the team.
- I am enormously privileged to be joining such a fantastic team @HarrogateNHSFT. Really looking forward to starting later this year and getting to know the people that help make Harrogate great. We're delighted to be welcoming Steve Russell as our new Chief Executive, starting later this year (exact date TBA). Steve brings a wealth of experience to the role. He takes over as CEO from Dr Ros Tolcher, who is retiring at the end of March.
- In preparation for tomorrows 8pm #clapforNHS NHS Nightingale Yorkshire & Humber was lit up in #OurNHS blue & next door @CPHarrogate paid tribute to the NHS, lighting up windows in those 3 important letters. We'll be out in force to celebrate and thank all keyworkers @didoharding
- 1. I love the NHS. 2. It is made up of people from around the globe. 3. If we are flying any flags to celebrate the NHS then surely it should represent those who make it up. Hereβs what ours should look like. Not just one which would ignore so many. @MattHancock @DHSCgovuk
- So pleased to have finished the @Yorkshire3Peaks ... managed to complete all 3 and did it in 11:29 which isn't the speediest but I'll take it! Everything hurts! Will post pics of the team later as it's now time for a G&T #teamHDFT @harrogatehcc @HarrogateNHSFT @AAC_Harrogate
- Some personal newsππ Iβll miss colleagues @HarrogateNHSFT and from across our health & care systems. Excited about the opportunity, but a bit daunted at following the rather amazing @Emily_JR_Lawson ! Keen to learn from all colleagues about how we continue her great work.NEW: @steve_r76 to take over from @Emily_JR_Lawson as NHSE vaccine lead - full story below: hsj.co.uk/workforce/trusβ¦
- And a slightly shaky attempt at a slightly more personal βhelloβ to everyone @HarrogateNHSFT. Video selfies are clearly not my thing!
00:00 - 42 years ago I joined the most amazing family. Today was the proudest moment of my life seeing mum presented with her BEM with the family around her for her services to nursing in Ethiopia. I'm the most proud son ever - and I got to see my wonderful brother Mark in a suit ππ
- As the NHS prepares to deal with a big surge in CV-Omicron infections pls 1) Get your booster - or 1st & 2nd doses (itβs not too late), 2) slow transmission with face masks, space etc, 3) persuade a friend to get jabbed, 4) be kind to NHS staff - weβll have to delay some things.
