- dido harding repostedMy fellow peers hell bent on stopping this Bill need to wake up and smell the coffee. Assisted dying backers could use archaic procedure to bypass ‘undemocratic’ block by peers | Assisted dying | The Guardian
- dido harding reposted🚨 British racing faces an unprecedented threat – a tax raid which could see it lose £66 million a year and tip it into irreversible decline. We need to stop the racing tax before it's too late. ✍️ Click below to sign the petition to #AxeTheRacingTax and help save our sport ⤵️

00:00 - Very sad news. David was a huge racing fan, advocate for the sport & a good friend. Despite our different political backgrounds, I really enjoyed working with him on the Lords Digital committee and talking about racing whenever we could. He will be much missed by many.Lord Lipsey was a staunch supporter of British horseracing and formerly an APPG member. Our condolences to his family at this incredibly sad time.
- dido harding reposted🤝 Our thanks to @SallyJameson for highlighting the potential impact on British racing and her Doncaster constituency of the Treasury's gambling tax harmonisation proposals. We look forward to further discussions with @hmtreasury. #BackBritishRacing #AxeTheRacingTax

- RIP Michael 🖤Replying to @TheJockeyClubMichael was hugely popular with his weighing room colleagues both in Ireland and the UK and our thoughts are with them, his family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time.
- dido harding repostedAll our thoughts are with Joe Saumarez Smith's family, friends and colleagues at the British Horseracing Authority.
- dido harding repostedBritish horse racing is the best in the world, but its funding model is broken. Securing a levy deal in racing’s favour and setting out a plan to significantly increase prize money are essential to the industry’s future success.
- Sending all love and support to @JoeSaumare90813 and his family. On behalf of everyone in the Jockey Club thank you Joe for all you have done for racing. You have always put the sport you love first and today is no different. You will be sorely missed!Joe Saumarez Smith steps down as Chair of the British Horseracing Authority Full details: britishhorseracing.com/press_releases…
- dido harding repostedHorse racing is a £4.1 billion British success story, and derives much of its income from responsible gambling. Today I asked the Secretary of State if she will reform the Betting Levy and disproportionate affordability checks.
