This reminds me of when I used to do radio control car racing and you had to take the peg corresponding to the frequency your crystal was so that you didn’t get interference when driving the car.

Needs some tuning still and sound effects for hitting the edge but I connected a trackball to a @pimoroni Galactic Unicorn and made a basic multi colour etch a sketch type thing with #micropython - code, full project and some games with this setup soon! #raspberrypi
