I forgot to wish my Volvo 245 GLT a happy 40th birthday on Friday, so I'm rectifying that now 🥳🥳

- One of the photos on the Wikipedia page for the mk1 Astra was taken in autumn 1980 outside Clare College in Cambridge. So of course I had to go and recreate the photo today
- For those who didn’t manage to get to my video reveal, here are a few photos of my newest automotive purchase: probably the oldest surviving mk5 Escort (built 30/08/90), of course in base Popular trim. I’m one happy boy 😀
- This fabulous trooper ticked over 200,000 miles today. Still feels as tight and robust as ever, and the 100PS 1.9PD engine punches ridiculously far above its weight.
- Took my Fiesta back to an early 90s business park, where I’m sure it felt right at home
- Isn’t the world sometimes a wonderful place? No history came with my mk5 Escort when I bought it, so I wrote to the previous owner to see if he’d kept anything. I had a suspicion he would, given the excellent condition of the car. This pile arrived today: I’m a happy boy!
- My Volvo 340 is looking sharp after several hours of hard work this afternoon 👍
- Had a great day at the BMC and BL day at Gaydon today, and the cars that really took my fancy were these SD1s, especially the stunning green one 😍
- Been working hard on my little Metro for the last couple of days, and it’s now looking absolutely resplendent, and will proudly be displayed in the concours de l’Ordinaire at #FOTU tomorrow
- Filled up the Escortilicious after 461 miles, and the gauge wasn’t even on the red yet. A comfortable 500-mile tanker I think! Calculated it out at 48mpg too, which is really rather good for a 4-speed
- I may have done a new car purchase... Facebook Marketplace special, still with its elderly owner of the last 15 years. Heated leather seats, sunroof, carpet on top of the carpet in the boot. Some jobs to do, but 106k miles means plenty of life left Collection on Monday 😀
