- It was unconscionable for SF to tow and forfeit vehicles from folks who couldn’t afford to pay parking tickets, and then to pocket the money from selling these vehicles when owners couldn’t pay the additional high cost of reclaiming their vehicles. 1/Last Friday, the California Court of Appeal held that San Francisco’s policy of towing lawfully and safely parked vehicles without a warrant, solely due to unpaid parking tickets, violates the California Constitution.
