    That happened to me: result 3 clots in the 'saddle' of my pulmonary artery, microbleeds in my brain, and dead capillaries in my toes which killed off my nerves.

    An elderly man just came up to me in Sainsburys. He wanted to show me the items he usually buys. Some have gone up by 100% in a month, he says. He looked like he was about to cry. 😢

    I just met up with my friend for a walk. He had Covid at Xmas and suffered from Bells Palsy a few weeks later. It damaged his sight. 39 and in great health before getting sick - he now has to cover his eyes and walks with a cane. 😰

    None of my IRL peeps except my OH still mitigate against Covid. But one friend can actually hold a conversation about the difference between our positions without it getting weird. Last time we spoke he said "I know i've sacrificed my lungs for the sake of entertainments." 1/4

    I met up with a new friend today. We found each other on @covidmeetupscom We went to the pub, and sat in the garden. We both wore N95s when we went in to order. The manager said to us, slightly ruefully "I look at you two and i think 'this is what we ALL ought to be doing'..."

    He pointed out some of the ready meals he regularly buys. Before you start judging, a lot of ppl (esp OAPs) in fuel poverty buy ready meals because they're cooked in a few mins in the microwave so can work out cheaper. Also easier if you're frail/can't cook. Keeps independence.

    🇬🇧 Please could UK scientists & medics write a joint letter to @CMO_England and @uksciencechief asking them to comment on the ending of self-isolation, free testing, Covid surveillance and Govt's general move towards pretending the pandemic is over? 🙏 We need collective action.
