Two years ago today: Beth (who I’ve not met since) working to keep me alive, giving me years more life. This is from my ‘Patient Diary’ from when I was in a coma.
- May 20 2020 Number 10 party. Damn, I missed it. I was in a coma. Just my luck.
- From the moment I was spotted as having the virus to where I am so far must have pulled in the work and skills of over a hundred people working long hours. The NHS was and is a great leap of the human imagination designed to help us all. Forever grateful and believing in it.
- They’ve been worried about my low blood pressure but they’ve brought me the Daily Mail so it’ll be fine in just a moment.
- When I was in an induced coma, night after night nurses watched over me to see that I didn't need emergency attention. In the morning they wrote me a 'letter' which went into a 'Patient Diary' which they gave me when I came round. This is only worth 1%?
- From Michael's family: Michael is very poorly at the moment. Having spent a night in ICU, he is now doing "ok, stable, alert" and was able to go to a ward yesterday. Thank you very much for all your kind concern. Emma x @underthecranes @J0e_R0sen
- Michael is still poorly but continuing to improve. He has been able to eat today & will be getting a more comfortable oxygen mask soon. All good signs. He does know you've all been rooting for him with this lovely wave of support. Thanks again, Emma x @Underthecranes @J0e_R0sen
- I said to one OT at the rehab that I didn't think I would be able to do a show to 100s of children in a theatre again. She said I would. This year, I did a show to 100s at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. A woman with her kids asked me to sign a book. It's me, she said. It was the OT.
