    I was in A and E last night - it wasn’t serious thankfully but I was in pain - a lovely person in the waiting room called Jamie Marshall saw I was suffering and went to buy me some cold drinks. Just like that, a complete stranger. Hope you are on Twitter Jamie, thank you.

    Thank you for all the kind messages during our broadcasts from Ukraine. We are now handing on to another team. It is hard to leave, especially our Ukrainian colleagues. But it is as nothing to the scenes we saw at the Polish border just now - men waiting stoically and smilingly…

    It's interesting you say this Tim, as it wasn't the case for me, nor I suspect for many others. I had no connections at all, and just approached papers/programmes asking for work experience...

    Cronyism is an awkward one for us to address in journalism. Hard to find someone who can write about it who isn’t a son, daughter, sister, brother, other half of someone etc important who fixed it for them to get their job in the first place.
