Cripes, thank you for the lovely messages. The news popped out while I was in a pub in Halifax, with no signal. My phone did the can can in the car park when I came out&hasn’t stopped dancing since. The new job is an immense privilege&responsibility and I’ll give it everything.

Oooof. Former Conservative MP Sir Nicholas Soames on Leader of the House Jacob Rees Mogg @thetimes: ‘an absolute fraud, a living example of what a moderately cut double-breasted suit and a decent tie can do with an ultra-posh voice and a bit of ginger stuck up his arse.’

I'm hearing the thread below from the Culture Secretary about Jeremy Hunt has incensed some MPs and is tempting some to vote against the Prime Minister -- because they feel it comes with his endorsement
1/4 On afternoon of 23rd July 2020 when I was health minister you telephoned me to tell me that we had to handle the pandemic following the example set by the East/China. That people testing + should be removed from their homes and placed into isolation hotels for two weeks.

OOOF! Home Office source: “Priti is working day&night to bring an end to these small boat crossings, which are facilitated by international criminal gangs&are of serious concern. If that means upsetting the social media team for a brand of overpriced junk food then so be it.”
Hey @pritipatel we think the real crisis is our lack of humanity for people fleeing war, climate change and torture. We pulled together a thread for you..

    Labour's tree planting policy (with mathematical support from @BBCFrediani): Labour wants to plant 2 billion trees by 2040. That is, roughly... * 100 million/yr * Or 8.3 million a month * 2 million a week * 300,000 a day *12,400 an hour, every hr, 24hrs/day * 200 a minute #GE2019
