On an 14 hour flight I sat next to a college student who bought Wi-Fi to have Claude summarizes research papers into an essay which he then feeds into an “AI detection” website. He repeats this process with Claude over and over until the output clears the website’s detection.

We lived next to a highway for a year. Every time a particularly heavy container truck went by, my mother would wake up in sweats. She remembers every second of the Christmas bombing.

Just as we near the time of the Christmas bombing, let me remind you that it was Henry Kissinger who advised President Richard Nixon to bomb Hanoi in 1972 to make the North Vietnamese "negotiate seriously". 2,400 Vietnamese lost their lives then.

Grandma was working on the other side of Cầu Long Biên the night bombing started. Took her three hours to bike back to be with her daughters. She still can't talk about it. Nowadays mom just says "If not for the bombing I would still have my original birth certificate."
