Dream achieved
A 24 year dream was achieved this afternoon
After a year of bloody sweat and a few tears
I passed out this afternoon as a fully qualified train driver
And the driverless trains brigade now? One of my wonderful colleagues was in that cab, under extreme pressure making the right calls following strict protocol to make the railway safe for everyone on board
As someone who had a one under recently my god did this bring back some unwanted memories
Having someone walk towards your train like that is a frightening experience
Don’t know if the driver threw it all in but I’d of shat myself
But of course we just press buttons all day
Train drivers love a jumper? Fuck you
Oh yeah one of the most traumatic experiences of my career
Oh and funnily enough I didn’t get 6 months wages tax free for the experience
“It’s the poor old taxpayers who are going to be thinking, okay so how is that going to be funded? Oh it’s coming out of my pocket.”
The average salary for a train driver will go up “from £60,000 to £69,000” after Aslef reached a deal with the government, says @SimonCalder.
You’re a lying cunt
There’s no offer on the table
The union rejected this because none of us members would wipe our arse with what you proposed
Stop talking bollocks
Do your fucking job and get back around the table
You useless wanker
ASLEF bosses still order strikes despite having an offer on the table that would lift their members’ average wage to £65,000 for a 35hr week.
This is all while they block the vital reforms needed to safeguard the future of the railways 👇

It’s always the people who think we press buttons all day have the most to say about how I do my job
Honestly these people wouldn’t last 5 minutes as a train driver
Haven’t got a fucking clue 🤦🏼🤣
