Honestly, the success of this post has really boosted 12YOs confidence. He got up this morning (he’s feeling much better) and he’s been happily painting at the kitchen table ever since.
It’s our 30 year anniversary today! Neither of us look a day older, I know!!! 🤣 If you’d have told either of us then that in 30 years we’d be living in the French Alps now with our 2 teenage kids (well, 1 nearly teen) we’d have laughed at you. Here’s to another 30 years ❤️
12YO went to a school fete thing with a friend this afternoon/evening.
She rang earlier and told me she'd won a holiday for 4 to the Canaries - as she's a wind up merchant I laughed and assumed she was pulling my leg.
Reader, she won a holiday to the Canaries. 😱
Nana let the kids buy some toys. They’re these banana things that you peel back to reveal the inside.
I’m not completely convinced she hasn’t let them a bunch of s*x toys from Poundland. 😳🤣
I’ve just this second decided, in case anyone cares, that 2024 is going to be my year. Hope it’s your year, too. I’m a bit bored of it not being my year, truth be told. So watch this space.
So much this. I love my kids but right now I’d sell them* for an hour alone.
Disclaimer for twitter weirdos: my kids aren’t actually for sale, I’m just being over dramatic.
The absolute ease with which my 10YO son just answered the barber’s ‘does your mum know you’re having your hair this short?’ question with ‘I don’t have a mum, I have two dads’ makes me incredibly proud. 🌈
I’ve shown him the response to this post and your lovely comments - because sometimes he doesn’t take praise or feel good about his achievements.
He shrugged and said ‘is that good?’
But I think the praise went in as he’s painting something else onto canvas now in his room 😊
