This is OUR COUNTY TOURNAMENT FINAL & instead there is a franchise competition in another country being shown on TV (& one that is not even close to a final). This is how much our championship is belittled & devalued - how are we meant to survive??? espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/298…

Surrey had 6311 spectators- the largest county championship crowd this century 👏👏👏
Happy #countycricketday everyone! Photos from the ground you’re at are most welcome! I’m here @SomersetCCC with @wilfordwm & @antgib where Warwickshire have been put in. SO EXCITED! 😆

Thanks who follow CCM both here & the 12,000 on FB. This was set up cos I was fearful of what the 100 would do to the championship & i wanted to celebrate county cricket & give it a voice The 100 has been bad for cc but I DO know there is other cricket. This is for the 18 counties

I’m tired of people tonight. I’m tired of cricket. I’m tired of the same old arguments going around & around but mostly I’m tired of people pigeonholing folks. It’s not them & us - it’s a multitude of thoughts on the game & we want the best for cricket - just have different ideas

What a wonderful test match series it was. What a weird schedule now with no more test match cricket and just a few championship games in September to go. What I don’t understand is why we are allowing broadcasters to dictate our cricket season - it should not be just about cash

The weather has been cold & blustery but there has been SO much love for the championship - more than I’ve ever known. And you’re wrong if you don’t think it can survive on love ❤️

This is class from Atherton. I’ve had it up to my eyes (and I’m very tall) with people deliberately not mentioning the uneven playing field.
Atherton on good form today and making a pertinent point - The Blast Quarter Finals start today and they need to be put in the 'shop window' along with The Test. So hard to measure success when the starting blocks are so unevenly placed...

The game is on its knees - we’ve been told Without The 100 the counties won’t survive - so why are a few ECB bigwigs getting nearly twice as much ‘bonus pay’ as an entire county in their ‘pay off’ money?
I'm guessing the staff & players at the counties that took a pay cut will find this somewhat jarring... And the members that donated their membership fees in 2020 will be queuing up to shake their hands 😳 dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/…

What a fascinating round of county cricket. These 3 rounds have been a great advertisement for the longer format & what perfect weather!

It’s so important to have your say in this matter. Members own 15 of the counties at present. This WILL change as franchises take over. Let’s work together with the counties and try to keep them working for our communities & for the future of the game for ALL
Hold on to your memberships county fans. The 15 member owned counties must meet the inevitable franchise take overs with their eyes open & members must help to ensure they’re part of the conversation about what’s best for their county & for ALL the community. Let’s work together.
