It's a common myth that you pay more taxes in Texas. This myth is not only wrong, it is wrong by 3x - 5x for high income earners who do not overspend on property. You don't want to live somewhere that has a state income tax.

I heard a story on YouTube about a boomer small business owner paying $12 /hour, saying “this is a good job,” shocked at how she couldn’t hire anyone who wouldn’t steal from her. I think this is true up to and including Congress and the federal reserve bank.
