    BREAKING NEWS: An @hmrcgovuk official has replied to an individual’s email CONFIRMING suspension of settlement in light of the #LoanChargeReview announced by @BorisJohnson HMRC are now obliged to agree the same for ALL facing the #LoanCharge. So all settlements must be on hold.

    Following the announcement of the #LoanCharge review by @BorisJohnson in response to the #PMQ from #LoanChargeAPPG Vice Chair @RossThomson_MP we have written to the #PrimeMinister @borisjohnson making clear that the #LoanCharge must be suspended & the review must be independent.

    Several MPs supporting the protest today were saying that @hmtreasury & @HMRCgovuk are desperately trying to block action on the #LoanCharge despite the clear will of MPs for suspension & review. This is disgraceful & the case of HMRC wholly unacceptable & an abuse of their role

    BREAKING: The #LoanChargeAPPG @EdwardJDavey @RuthCadbury @RossThomson_MP have written to Sir Jonathan Thompson of @HMRCgovuk demanding that all #LoanCharge settlements be suspended as the #LoanChargeReview renders them illegitimate, when the review outcome is not known.

    It’s not acceptable @Jesse_Norman to be writing such a biased & misleading letter & trying to prejudice an INDEPENDENT review! It’s clear @hmtreasury & @HMRCgovuk are trying to & predispose & direct the #LoanChargeReview. We’ll challenge that, including to Sir Amyas Morse.

    Jesse Norman has written to all MPs with a letter that seems to pre-judge the review by virtue of the opening paragraphs, but which he then refers to as 'independent' 🤔 Again we see this distinctive use of the word "directly" in reference to who this review will focus upon.

    Very sorry to announce that cross-party #NC31 was not called for a vote. Extraordinary considering that there were over 50 MPs on it. Thousands of people will feel badly let down by the @HouseofCommons tonight. We hope that the @UKHouseofLords will raise the #LoanCharge now.

    So sorry to have to announce we’ve been informed of 2 further suicides of people facing the #LoanCharge. @HMRCgovuk @hmtreasury have been warned about the suicide risk for a year yet refuse to suspend the #LoanCharge. @theresa_may @Jesse_Norman @BorisJohnson @Jeremy_Hunt Act now.
