🤯 This month marks THREE years since the consultation into pavement parking in England closed. 🗓️ Over 1,000 days of waiting for a response... We need to put an end to #PavementParking. Agree? Tell the Transport Minister to take action: e-activist.com/page/137567/pe…

We've been campaigning for years for Oxford Street to be pedestrianised to improve air quality & make it a world-class destination. Transforming the area around Oxford Circus into two pedestrianised piazzas is a step in the right direction. #CleanAirDay

Q: What makes people cross? 😡 A: Waiting more than 30 seconds for the green man ⌛️ Today Living Streets launches its new #BetterCrossings campaign, calling for reduced waiting times for pedestrians at signal-controlled crossings. livingstreets.org.uk/news-and-blog/…

68% of UK journeys are under five miles. Distances that can be walked or cycled. So perhaps active travel should be listed as one of the 'best alternatives'...

Congratulations to @Chris_Boardman, who has been awarded a CBE in the King's Birthday Honours for services to active travel. It's great to see his work to make walking, wheeling and cycling preferred options for everyone recognised.

Our latest YouGov poll about side road zebra crossings found: 🦓 83% of adults would feel more confident crossing the road with them 🦓 76% of parents would be likely to #WalkToSchool with them 🦓 65% of adults think UK govt should authorise them.

95% of households live no further than a 20 minute walk from their nearest primary school. We need to be encouraging and enabling these families to #walktoschool, not giving over more road space to private vehicles. #cleanair

🚗Electric vehicles won’t solve rising congestion on our roads. We need to change the way we travel. 🚶‍♀️ By prioritising investment in walking & cycling, decision-makers can help people ditch the car for their short, everyday journeys. via @RHarrabin

👍 A London council is looking into closing streets to motor traffic during #UKlockdown to make more space for pedestrians and cyclists. 🌍 It's already happening in cities around the world. 📢 Share this if you want it to happen where you live.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The beginning of the end for parking on pavements in Scotland. ❌ MSPs unanimously vote for new laws to be passed which would see it banned. ⤵️ Our comment from @LStreetsScot and what we hope this means for the rest of the UK. #pavementparking
