Copenhagen where ~50% of daily commutes and school runs are done by bike. This is the kind of parking problem we need! @activetraveleng @Sport_England

Meet my grandson Bruce, a week old and we’re already accumulating material to humiliate him at his 18th

I’m so sad that riding a bike looking like this is so upsetting to people. It’s happening just a few hundred miles from us, and I think it’s quite wonderful.

We did this today, hopefully brings a bit of perspective to those determined not to have any. If you agree, share it far and wide 👍
Cyclists aren’t the ‘scourge of the streets’. They are mothers, fathers, grandparents and children all doing their bit to make Britain a healthier, greener and more liveable place. Share this video from @Chris_Boardman to help us make our message loud and clear to @channel5_tv

This is not a cycle club outing, it’s the ITV Tour de France production crew - sound, camera, director, everyone - just out for dinner like any other night. How wonderful is that. (Imagine if they’d all come in a car)

Getting so many messages from road crime victims coupled with polite inaction from our justice system, I think it's time for this:

Thanks for all the lovely messages about my leaving ITV Tour de France coverage. It’s been an absolute privilege, especially this year. Sadly not enough time for all things, and lots to do in Greater Manchester with @AndyBurnhamGM 🐝 🚲 🚶‍♀️

So, weekend coming up, weather looks nice, if you’re going to ride a bike... Once a day Close to home AT LEAST 2m away from anyone else. Don’t even think about going out with anyone You don’t live with. We need exercise to get through this and stay healthy. Don’t abuse it 👍

We’ll do more than encourage them, we will enable them to get to shops, schools and workplaces under their own steam, by providing high quality, safe joined up routes . Looking forward to it.
We’re encouraging more people to cycle and walk through a new Executive Agency body, #ActiveTravel England. 🚴 🚶 @Chris_Boardman will be leading the new body as the first interim national Active Travel Commissioner. Find out more about our plans here 👉 gov.uk/government/new…

What terrible wording. If ‘the car’ had only ‘hit his bike’ this 6yr old wouldn’t be dead. Fact: ‘driver hits child with a car’ We have to start calling this what it is, taking road crime seriously and attaching appropriate penalties.
