I've come to the conclusion I may never visit the United States again. And I love the United States. So many great places to see, such history, great geography (I adore the southwest). But #COVID19 has exposed the country as a very dangerous place to visit, likely for many years.

The concerns over the vaccine card are laughable. We all accept restrictions: we stop at red lights and stop signs, no shoes/no service, no smoking, seat belts, photo id for plane travel, etc. Also: if you are on Facebook you have no privacy. Get real people. #COVID19 #bcpoli

Let's all hope the Canada-US border does not re-open for a very, very, very long time. #COVID19

Judging from the semi-viral positive Twitter reaction to this tweet (and a series of polls in this subject) it is clear @jjhorgan is on the correct side of a majority of public opinion. #getalifetruckers #bcpoli
    I was asked a few times about a so-called “trucker convoy” - here’s my response 👇

We are living in a historical moment. People ask me why I'm working 7 days a week. This is likely the story of our lives. Needs strong, rational coverage. No panicking. Calm coverage needed. #COVIDCanada #bcpoli

Meet Alfie! Aka Alfred P Baldrey the Third! 13 weeks! Super smart. Adorable. Very amusing. And a bit of a puppy terror right now. We’re very happy with him!

I gotta say: name another politician who does what @JustinTrudeau does with these unscripted no holds barred events. It’s actually extraordinary and full props to him. #bcpoli #cdnpoli

Scott Moir is half cut, drinking beer, clad in Canadian colours, yelling at the refs. This should be one of those Canadian Heritage Moments.

So 28 people died from #COVID19 overnight. TWENTY-EIGHT folks. More than 200 in two weeks. Deaths. And still people are still trying to argue they should be exempt? You know who you are. Don't look for loopholes. Look for obeying the rules and therefore saving lives. Do it.

To all those who have a problem with me basing my reporting and analysis on what public health epidemiologists and infectious disease experts (from around the world) have to say about #COVID19 here's some advice: don't follow me on Twitter anymore. Got it?

Today's briefing by Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister @adriandix is the last regularly scheduled one. After almost 18 months. I've covered every one of them. What a long, historic ride. #COVID19 #bcpoli

Let's end tonight on an encouraging note: we are now at 40+% vaccinated in BC. We are on target for 60% by May long weekend, and it is conceivable we are at 70% by start of June. #COVID19 #bcpoli

Dr, Bonnie Henry is always measured. So when she called out unvaccinated health care workers today it was very telling. "You are probably in the wrong profession" she advised. I think she's right. Go do something else if you won't follow science and public health. Bye!

I plunge into 2021 with the same attitude I had back in March when pandemic was declared: all in, all the time, non-stop, no let up. Not until this scourge is beaten. It may take another year. No matter. On we go. Bring it on #COVID19. We will beat you. And I will chronicle it.
