I can’t do my @BBCRadio2 show this evening. My sister Frances is v poorly in hospital with Covid. I don’t feel shiny or happy tonight, I feel very scared. However I’ll be listening to @willyoung who I know will light up our kitchen in the depths of our darkness 💜

Update on Frances: a thread. First of all, Frances would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who has helped her, especially the amazing doctors and nurses of the NHS, and her many MANY well-wishers. ❤️

Hard to express the depth of my gratitude to the people who are working SO hard to save my sister’s life. Thanks to all of you who’ve listened & advised, shared your stories & yr support. Feels like the calm before the storm tonight but we’re not giving up yet 💜#TeamFrances #LD

Thanks to @AndrewMarr9 @BBCOne for asking me to talk about my sister and her ongoing battle with Covid. I felt I owed it to the LD community to explain the unique challenges they face with this horrific virus & to let them know they are not forgotten or of less value in society.

Today we went to drop off a care package at the hospital where Frances has been fighting COVID. Emotional scenes when we were greeted by this little face coming to the window to wave at us. I told you she was special 💜

Just checking. We’re not wearing bras anymore, are we? #Pointless

Crying with joy at today’s news. For all those with a LD who’ve lost their lives & for those who thought they’d been forgotten. We DO care and we WILL protect you 💜 Well Done & thank you to @mencap_charity 💪😊❤️
‘This is a great day’ - ⁦@jowhiley⁩ reacts to news that ALL those with a learning disability who are on the GP Learning Disability Register will get the covid jab as a priority (until now it was only those with severe learning disabilities). Jo’s sister will now get her jab

Feel like I’m in a terrible film with bad plot twists. Late last night I got a call to say that Frances, my sister, had tested positive & has COVID. Our worst fears realised after keeping her safe for a year & with a vaccine so close... she’s ok so far.. Everything crossed 🤞💜

What a man. What a legend. The broadcaster’s broadcaster. One of the kindest, loveliest people I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Thanks for the support & music chat over the years. Can’t believe we won’t meet in the bowels of MV for our weekly catch up. Love ya Wrighty💔

NOTHING makes me happier than getting home on a cold dark night and putting out the bins... for they are magical bins. Invisible to all who live in our house except me.

The coolest woman who ever graced the airwaves. She blazed a trail for us all and never compromised. Her passion for music never diminished. Annie - My utmost respect and thanks for it all. Much love Jo 🖤

Last night I got my first unsolicited text message from my sister. She’s never cracked how to send an emoji & now she won’t stop! And it’s delightful. Feels like when she first began to talk - she now has a different mode of communication at her disposal. The story so far..

In case you missed it. I spoke to @AndrewMarr9 this morning before he spoke to @MattHancock Thanks to all CCGs who are now taking it upon themselves to prioritise LD people for the vaccine 👏🙏
