A huge thank you to those district, care home and community nurses and colleagues from primary care who are out visiting people, caring for people in need and providing vaccinations. For more than 160 years community nurses have cared for people at home 365 days of the year.

Completely overwhelmed by the lovely messages of congratulations following the Platinum Jubilee Honours. Thank you to everyone - I have tried to respond individually - apologies if I have missed you. I am grateful to work with amazing colleagues and I’m proud to lead @TheQNI

‘Nursing is a profession of vigilance not simply one of task delivery. Scheduling of work must be person-centered and individualised and the named Registered Nurse must determine the appropriate ‘window’ of time to deliver holistic care.’ Prof Alison Leary @alisonleary1 @TheQNI

    Replying to @PaulBrandITV and @itvnews
@PaulBrandITV where is the evidence that District Nurses are unable to see patients? @TheQNI represents community nursing and this is totally untrue. Tens of thousands of patients are been cared for by district nurses 24/7. Reporting facts would help @CrystalOldman
